I don't know if you are aware of this: These comments which summarize the videos are really bad for KZbinrs and the watch time of the video. People read these kind of comments, get everything they need to know and don't watch the video anymore. KZbinrs put so much effort in their videos and with comments like this the watch time will decrease significantly.

@@clarissaxfitnesspeople also have limited time and youtubers are nowadays just repeating themselves and clickbaiting. lists of x habits or y tips are a great example of this. nobody wants to lose their time just to discover in the end of the video that nothing was useful for them. unfortunately it's what it is.

“Productivity comes in cycles” SO TRUE. I have days where I’m top of my game, ticking off everything on my to do list... then next day I’m binge watching Netflix and I’m up to my neck with tasks I’ve postponed.. lol. I’ve learned to pace myself now, just picking a few main things to do even on my ‘productive’ days, and making sure I have enough energy to start again tomorrow.

The secret I've found when implementing multiple new habits is to have discipline, be accountable, and don't beat yourself up. You can do it. Discipline is a form of self love and self preservation. It doesn't mean you take life too seriously or are too strict. You just love yourself. Nothing is wrong with that.

For me when i implement new habit like deleting social media or taking break from it, i start with something that i can see the result. For example, people/books usually recommend to take break for 30 days and see how it changing your life but im taking it just a day and see how the result (my screentime reduced, picking thing up to combat with time wthout soc media etc) and day by day it is much better than saying no completely for a month. It is kinda habit for me to gaze out of the window instead reaching my phone to scroll social media if im bored now.

I love that you mentioned productivity happens in cycles. A friend of mine told me years ago that she plans her activities around her menstrual cycle and it changed my life! Because as you mentioned hormones can have a part to play. Once you know what your cycles are you can build routines that play to your strengths/strongest periods (pun intended). Being successful in that way also helps motivation too! Great video,l! Love that it wasn’t the regular end of year mumbo jumbo Lol

I found these habits really authentic and realistic. No much stress on "productivity" or "positivity". I am not saying these are bad in any way at all, but too much of everything can be overwhelming and hard to cope with. We all go thru phases of feeling down or perhaps negative and also being unproductive. So I really found these mentioned habits appropriate and logical :)

Watching this in July 2021 ! But, i started a habit of reading books ( a book on your bedside table always helps) last year because i wanted a new hobby and also because reading is a good habit :p Started working out from home as my gym was shut down (hello tummy rolls). Started cooking my own home cooked meals(outside food hygiene was questionable) Learned Baking(because cake!!) Learned to grow houseplants ( because room looked lonely) and now i have 24 of them! Took up Japanese as a hobby (again needed something challenging) and watched a TON of anime haha now that i see I've learnt a Lot of new stuff and it all randomly added to the happiness in my life. Eating healthy. Exercise. New language. Reading new books seems like a lot but it flows if you create an interest for it or a goal per se. Love the video! The more you keep physical triggers of your habits the more you'll be able to do it. Let us all come outta the pandemic looking and feeling better about ourselves! and with a few new habits and skills haha

This video was nourishing to watch, thank you 🙏 Ironically I have found habit trackers incredibly instrumental for allowing me to let go of perfectionism. My goal isn't to mark them all off but to make progress no matter how small without burning myself out or going into a slump of procrastination. I'm a recovering perfectionist so a balance of empty space to marked spaces (or near enough) is what I aim to achieve. With no guilt trips for the ones I did or didn't do enough of. The ones that I struggle to do most I can see clearly and it's usually a key indicator that my underlying motivation for it is wrong for me, and needs investigation. Or... that I'm approaching it in a way that isn't feeling right for me or goes against a value that is far more important to me. Double bonus- I learn something about myself AND I get to look for a creative solution that I might never had gone seeking for otherwise. Really enjoy the things you share 💖

Great video and this is why I stopped making resolutions!! I've tried planners, digital habit trackers and they never work out for me!! So I've decided that this March, I plan to work on my health and overall life moving forward!! One habit I've been able to stick to is making my bed every morning to give me some sense of organization, and I maintain keeping my house organized!! Now I want to get into the habit of meal prepping, exercising and creating "ME Time" where it's all about creative outlets which will help me stay away from mindless social media surfing and fill my life with things and rituals I can share with my family to teach them that there's more to LIFE than social media and videogames!!💖🙏🏼🙏🏼

The only way I've found to stick to new habits is to actually change everything at once - I've been quite lucky in that way being a student, as when I move to a new house/flat each year there's less pressure to keep my old ones. Stuff like if I want to get up earlier, I also implemement timetabling my time, doing exercise in the morning, drinking water when I wake up etc. Then I know if I don't manage to get up early I 'fail' four habits, not just one. The problem I've found though is if I drop one habit, I tend to lose them all
@mariana-vieira4 жыл бұрын
That’s very interesting. When you do lose all the habits, how do you get motivated again to pick them up?
@Jemmainadilemma4 жыл бұрын
I really appreciate your content. You say stuff that is insightful and useful and explain it in really effective ways. My favourite is the final one, its something that I've been saying for years - I remember realising that you could just make a resolution on a Thursday night when I was about 15 and thinking 'wow why do other people not realise this?!' But I still have the tendency to stick to that habit of Monday morning or the first of the month- I've found it so hard to shake that even though I know its unhelpful and not true! I'm definitely getting notion as well but I'm scared of trying to start a new organisation system from scratch!

Hello Mariana, this is my first time hearing your pod cast, wow, your messages here for us are very valuable I'm gonna save and re-play it every so often to remind myself of what you've said, the only thing I disagree with you on is about using trackers, keeping track of how often I exercise, how much water I drink, and what and how often I choose to learn about for my own personal growth are all habits that are reinforced by the fact that I've taken the time to record the information. The way to get around feeling self defeated whenever I am not as consistent as I'd like to be is to beat my previous week's tally and now of course by listening to you again,😋

About shopping less and decluttering, what I do and I believe it has helped me a lot is that I tend to e-shop more than I shop in an actual shop. That is helpful because every time, before clicking the buy button, I ask myself "Do I really need this?". If the answer is yes, then I go ahead and buy it, if the answer is no or if I am not really sure then I leave it on my cart for a few days or longer and when/if I return to this e-shop, I can see what I wanted to buy and rethink how useful it would be in my life. This, of course, does not have to be limited to online shopping, but the freedom to enter an e-shop even at 2am and spend 4 hours searching for what you need makes it easier.
