You're absolutely correct. That suspension was NOT for "vibration" (an obvious BS ploy), but rather for the normal, uneven terrain that is always found on any job. I think they were attempting to avoid conflict with the independent suspension found on all ASV loaders that will always provide more traction on uneven soil when pitted against a rigid track roller suspension (or lack thereof). Personally, I think this rocking, swingarm style "tank suspension" may be superior to the ASV's multi-independent suspension method on each wheel. Time to test...

I don’t think he was having a meltdown. Some people just get flustered when ppl are very direct with them. In the south we take time to let ppl finish a thought or question before asking another. Sometimes when I’m mid-sentence and somebody asks something it takes a sec to change mental gears. Next time let him finish his thought and take time to appreciate what he’s saying. Methane for fuel thing is Landfills and by extension municipal fleets. Also huge dairy and cattle farms. Who capture their own Methane. Its a limited supply looking for a use. Not a mass market thing.

There's a gas station near me that sells off road diesel, you just have to sign a book that says you will only use it off road, I use it in torpedo heaters. Fuel is so cheap I wish I had a 1000 gallon tank to fill, gasoline is $1.77 a gallon near me.

As a farmer I find it funny listening to the case guy talk about the newholand methane tractor as if it’s something you can go out to a farm and see. And it’s much different using methane as a fuel source in agriculture where it’s easily reclaimable from livestock as opposed to construction where you’d have to find a supplier

Most off-road diesels do not require the ultra-low sulfur fuel and run just fine on #2 heating oil. which does not have road tax on it. that's why it's dyed red, so if you use it in your road vehicle, it stains the system and you pay a BIG fine. IIRC, some on-road fuel filters have an additive that will gel with the dye. hell with gasoline being so cheap, if you look it up we're probably paying $0.75 a gallon as a fixed tax meaning we're actually only going to be paying a few pennies a gallon once the tax is reimbursed this year.

In Canada we run dyed diesel with no tax for off road use. Clear diesel for on road use. If you get caught with dyed diesel on road, its huge fines.

@@UnbeltedSundew the ministry of transportation of Ontario will do random spot checks of diesel trucks and dip your tanks. Or take a sample from your tank. If your on the road it better be clear diesel. Tractors, combines, agriculture equipment can have dyed diesel.

You just took 2 machines to the emergency wall repair, where with the 6MCR you only transport one machine I ran a Gallmac in 2007-09 same concept once you have the versatility of a machine like that its very hard to go back to something like a TLB

That may be John Deere first go at a compact dozer loader but Case has had one & believe it will be ready for delivery early 2021. It's a Case dl550b. Either way, good to see manufacturers are trying to develop more versatile machines in this category.

Methane, propane and butane are actually superior fuel sources in terms of both efficiency and minimal pollution. Most of the time the motors can run all 3 of these and the combined version which is known as natural gas. We started using it about 50 years ago with forklifts and were very very happy because the Motors required far less maintenance as well. It was easy to store the pressurized gas on site. It is also much easier to avoid both the state and federal road taxes. While it is true that diesel provides for a better torque curve for circumstances where high torque is. required, we found that pressurized gas was superior to gasoline in all other applications. For heavy equipment diesel provides for a far superior torque performance. For snow removal, I believe that compressed gas would work very very well.

Ok Stanley you are running behind. Those Michelin tires it is called TWEEL X and is already used in multiple applications from Fork lifts, over military humvee over to ATV's and more. The inner core of the tire is replaced with different Kevlar/rubber materials and manufacturers like Michelin with the X Tweel and Continental with ContiAdapt , Toyo Tires and also Bridgestone are working on those tires which will be the future for tires especially in the Heavy and Military use first, but long term also for racing vehicles and regular street cars. Methanol and Ethanol are very good alternative fuels but because of the lack of lubrication carried with the fuel the lubrication within the Engine has to be redesigned. Methane Gas you have to look at it like LPG or Liquid Propane Gas stored in modern fuel cells is used in Europe already in public transportation vehicles for over 20 years. Like on Buses and Trains even. So it is a very solid technology which just need's adaption by the mass so that we have it readily available.

fyi the tax form for the fuel credit is the 4136. Most states also have a fuel credit form in Iowa it is the IA4136. Your tax advisor should be able to help you with it as part of your tax prep fee.

I ran a bobcat mini ex and I kinda hated the thing. As far as off road fuel goes, if it is taxed a tiny bit for transport, then that is technically an on road tax, which means it's on road fuel. The wonderful dot will make you pay extra already for heavy loads, so that fuel shouldn't be making up for any kind of transport. So in court you could technically run off road fuel in your pickup, because their taxing it for onrad use. They got a real problem on their hands, I noticed they have been doing this for many years.

The guy from Tetra should know that some people will ask tough questions. He seemed to get flustered once you mentioned methane fuel. Why wouldn’t you a consumer be concerned about methane and the dangers associated with it. I worked at a toyota dealership that sold the toyota Mirai (hydrogen fuel cell). I would say at least 25% of consumers who were interested in this car thought if they got into an accident the would blow up. That isn’t the case but getting defensive about it doesn’t help address the misinformation of the product.

10:26 you questioned methane as a fuel source for vehicles. I would imagine that is what rattled his cage. Most indoor forklifts use methane, almost all gas companies fleets of vehicles get converted to use methane instead of gasoline and diesel (and you can rebuild any motor that uses methane and it will be completely clean as new with no carbon buildup at all). Mines use methane on some of their vehicles, foreign countries like Russia have parts where that is all they fuel their vehicles with. 11:04 you said the tires look like they are made of plastic. Basically you called out his BS. While I don't agree with your opinion on the natural gas powered vehicles, how they are more dangerous than conventional fuel, I do agree with the fact that a piece of equipment like this is a tool and spending all that extra money to try and make it look like a sports car is a waste. The tires on that thing should be rubber and have sidewalls to protect them from the obvious dirt/mud that will eventually fill those holes up. That might make those tires worth it, as they would never go flat (if they are cheaper than tracks). A smart equipment company puts all their time and effort into the tools performance first, user friendliness second and cosmetic appearance last. This was like a salesman trying to sell a farmer a shovel with a rubber handle and a plastic shovel head covered in neon pink paint with lightning bolt decals all over the handle for twice the price as a regular old shovel.

Red fuel doesn’t get highway tax. It gets state sales tax if your state taxes it for non ag use.
