5 Night Canoe Camp Part 2

Hello Everyone and welcome!
In this video, Ann Lucy and I are still out camping.
I try and catch some fish for dinner. While out fishing I meet our neighbour Mr. Beaver and I paddle through a marshy area to get a few good pics. When I get back to camp I cut more firewood to replenish our stock. Later we get caught in the rain and have to improvise our cooking strategy.

One thing I really need to do is slow down and do some fishing when camping. I'm always moving around exploring unless I'm at camp cooking. Sure is awesome that Lucy got 1 last big camp in. Can't wait for the next part!

I know what you mean. I don't fish all that much either. Always something that needs doing or exploring around camp. It was a great last trip for Lucy. She will be missed.

I see you use a kayak paddle instead of a typical canoe paddle. What's the advantage of it?

I only use it when I am solo. I find I get better control, especially battling a wind in that long canoe.

Good morning Anndy , definitely a great way to start the day , I'm not good with hats either. I use to , never took it off my head once then for some reason I stopped wearing it and now I find it so uncomfortable at times occasionally I can wear it and I do agree it's a must especially on the water. The mosquitos are unbelievable in the evenings when the sun dips and the evenings cool, I wish I had a solution ( I guess I'd be a rich man if I had the solution LOL) That was a nice fish at 8:52 for freshwater fish around here that would be a monster lol. What type was it ? looked delicious in the pan. Great idea using rocks to keep the canoe level and making it easier to handle. A refreshing dip in the pond is always nice after a sweaty day. I have to get myself a flint and steel I've never used that method to start a fire you did a great job with it. The rain was definitely coming down around the 32 minute mark enough to fill your fire pit LOL , gotta love the double rainbows though.
