Another excellent video. The more I learn about Alucards past, the more I appreciate how compelling his character arc throughout the series is. Had NO IDEA Lisa was from a Holy Bloodline, that makes too much sense honestly. Very ironic considering Draculas hatred towards God as we see in Lament of Innocence.

I wish we knew more about the Librarian since he clearly knows Alucard from centuries past. How did he get in Dracula’s employ? Did he know Lisa? Is he a vampire as well? There’s lore there but it was never expanded upon so it remains a mystery

I figured he is a vampire and has been in Dracula's employ for some time, same as the boatman. (Boatman might be a ghoul though) It's kinda like the vampire maids from CVx68000.

I think the Belmonts cannot wield the whip because they have to comply with the prophecy of Nostradamus in which the Belmonts must not use the whip until 1999, The great return of Dracula. To continue fight against Dracula, someone has to stand against him. this is why they handed the whip to the Morris' clan and also gave rise to the Ecclesia where Shanoa stand againsts Dracula.

Even though the Netflix series depicts Lisa being burned instead of crucified, it does still evoke Jesus Christ with the line “They don’t know what they’re doing,” seemingly in reference to Luke 23:34. Great video btw

The biggest part I got though was that Dracula kind of caused Lisa’s death, from stirring up the unrest and eliminating his potential rivals like Sypha’s people. This is from what he revealed to Hector in Curse of Darkness though. But it doesn’t feel out for Dracula given how he betrayed Leon in Lament of Innocence and elsewhere

Something you could have added is Richter's "well" from Rondo when Dracula asked him if he had any desires. This implyes the reason for the curse to controll Richter since he is a full-grown Belmont it would be nearly impossible to controll him.
@SIFAssassin2 жыл бұрын
To add to that, in Grimoire of Souls Richter himself admits that he was able to be controlled by Shaft because that desire to prove himself, that desire to fight, that bloodlust was already there subconsciously. Shaft was able to take that and exacerbate it until it completely clouded his mind.

3:41 If you watch the opening credits to the netflix castlevania, it does show alucard kneeling in front of Lisa who's about to be burned at the stake. So he MAY have seen her burned at the stake and remembered her last words.

How things happen in the games and how they happen in the Netflix Show are different. Lisa wasn't burned at the stake in the games, though Alucard was at some point during her execution able to hear her last words.

The real reason why Julius suffered from amnesia after the Demon Castle Wars was so that he can’t pull a Richter and be tempted to resurrect Dracula. Richter was able to be controlled by Shaft because Richter was so strong that he knew and desired nothing but more battles. It’s a weakness of all humans to resist changing their ways, especially if they’re talented in that specialization, after knowing only one path for so long. Julius was only 18 in 1999, and was the only Belmont who had ever surpassed Richter. His amnesia was for everyone else’s safety after the war.
@SindraVaniaProjects2 ай бұрын
Per haps, though I personally think it's due to the connection between Julius and the VK whip being severed due to locking it in the castle and the resulting exhaustion from battle. Just my thought though.

@@SindraVaniaProjects I plan on creating some type of long-form rebuttal to this (I believe) misconception of the fandom, but some arguments are the length of time it takes for one to die by crucifixion (days, usually), the historical inaccuracy of witches dying by crucifixion, the engineering of the contraption Lisa is tied to necessitating a cross-like structure but not being a crucifixion cross, the CoD manga depicting Lisa burning at the stake, Rosalee being burned at the stake a handful of years later for the same alleged crime of witchcraft, and more.
@SindraVaniaProjects Жыл бұрын
Could you point out in the manga where Lisa was burned? I can't find the reference. Even so, the game itself shows she didn't die by fire. Crucifixion is a broad term for being strung up on a cross-beam by the arms/hands and dying from any combination of things. Lisa in the game is bound to the horizontal beam by ropes around her wrists and her body looks to be hanging freely with nothing to hold her weight up. She would have died from exhaustion & asphyxiation/blood clots in hours. If she was burned, she would have been on a stake also.

@@SindraVaniaProjects The game doesn't show how she died at all, if I recall correctly--just that she was bound in a particularly uncomfortable way. I'll be happy to point out the manga reference in the video I'm making on the subject.

I thought Richter voluntarily gave up the whip because he felt he failed, as I believe in Portrait of Ruin, it was said to have been given up to the Morris line, unless something did say they they were barred from using it. For almost three hundred years, though it doesn't say when they got it back. It seemed only to be for the Belmont's as not even the Morris' could use and weren't necessarily worthy (never says what conditions there are or because Sara's spirit or remnant thereof only recognizes them). Jonathan was able to for some reason, though it killed his father despite his deeds, so that is unexplained).
@blumiu24262 жыл бұрын
I think a video on lore theory about why we see some of the same bosses appear in Dracula's castle, if they grow more powerful or not, as the Belmont surely would have strategy on combating them passed down, nor would Dracula's power be that limited. That would be interesting.
@blumiu24262 жыл бұрын
That's what through me off about Rondo of Blood! I was thinking Rondo was wrong, but it was Japanese and other info contradicted it. I wasn't sure what to believe, but you never saw anything sisterly in Rondo or stated. However...there's no such thing as an adopted sitter unless Annette adopted her before they married, though that's bizarre. You'd think they make he a daughter as that makes practical sense. She'd get the Belmont last name as well. If she's a distant relative, it seems like she came from Juste's line, as that's as far as we know they have magic in their blood or whatever magic actually is in that world. It still seems to be witchcraft, yet Belmont's are meant to be holy warriors. But if magic is connected to the dark, who much effect would that have on Dracula or other minions of some repute? It would be fighting fire with fire or null in instances. I think too much lol
