PRS: If you're reading this, please, please, please release a series model of fluff's PRS. Satin finish ftw! Make it a B or even a C maple top, I don't care, but the world demands satin finished bodies and necks with simple switching and knob layout. Otherwise, I'm afraid I have to break into fluff's home and steal his one. It's a 5000 mile trip from Germany, but see that's how desperate I am right now.

My ultimate favorite guitar is a Gibson Les Paul Standard… but I couldn’t physically carry one because of the titanium implant on my left clavicle, so now I play a Gibson SG ‘61 Reissue because it’s crazy light. I personally only have four guitars at the moment, so here they are in order and why: 4. Ibanez RX40. This is one I got as a mod platform guitar, to which I added a roller nut, locking tuners, and Seymour Duncan pickups. Plays great, sounds great, and if I need Strat tones, this gets me there. 3. 1966-ish Harmony Bobkat. This guitar is such an oddball, you have to love it. Sounds like a Les Paul with P90s, plays like nothing else I've ever played in the best way possible, it's just a fun little guitar to go nuts with. 2. 1981 Gibson Sonex. This has been my workhorse through the years. Weighs a ton, but has a ton of tone. It needs some TLC from years of use and abuse, but it's never let me down. 1. PRS SE Custom 24. What can I say? Plays great, always stays in tune, if I want Les Paul tones it has it, if I want Tele tones I can hit the coil split and I have that, it looks amazing, doesn't weigh a ton, sustains forever, it's just a great guitar.

It’s funny…. I’ve been playing guitar since i was 10 years old- 1977. Every single guitar i have ever owned has been sub 1k. They’ve all been great workhorse instruments. Last month, i finally threw down 2k on a fender mod shop left handed hardtail strat. I love the guitar. It’s very well made, finished and it was pretty much to my specs- given the specs the mod shop offers- But is it better than my 2009 Schecter Devil? My 2010 LTD? My Dean Angel of Deth V? My Player Strat? My EVH Wolfgang special? No. Never look at the price of a guitar, and think more is better. Play it. Live with it. Price isn’t everything. Fluff is showing us 20k worth of guitars, but that doesn’t mean 20k worth of guitars are superior than 2k worth of guitars….play what speaks to you, regardless of price…..

The RD reminds me of my vintage Charvel. I can't say wether RD plays the same as the Charvel. because I haven't played an RD but it sounds sort of similar. but the Charvel is also extremely heavy at almost twelve pounds. it's definitely a guitar that a person doesn't want to play standing up for any length of time.

I LOVE satin/matte finishes, especially with flamed tops. I always liked satin finishes on typical solid finishes because they're typically thinner. I didn't understand why someone would want it with flamed tops though, until I saw one. I think it's makes the flames look almost 3D. Matter of fact that first time I saw one, I had to run my fingers down it and fully expected to be able to feel them. I saw a Paul's guitar with this gold and black desert burst type finish. It kind like it was resonating just hanging on the wall.

They don't make them Custom 22s? That's a shame. 2 of the nicest and most expensive guitar I've owned were Custom 24s. Both I got in trades where I was approached and offered them. The first one I sold in under a month. The second one I decided I must be writing them off to quickly, (I mean everyone else seems to like them, right?) it lasted 6-7 weeks. I just can't do 24s. I don't like how it effects the neck pickup and I find them uncomfortable to play sitting down for long periods, my left shoulder aches from having to reach out more from having the whole bridge unit shifted towards the neck pocket to fit the other 2 frets.

Maybe I'm misremembering, but didn't you have tons of problems with the neck bending on the RD? Something like, the warmth from your hands while playing it would cause it to flex and go out of tune. Maybe that was a different guitar. Could have sworn it was the RD though.

I have les paul customs but there korean , japanese snd prophecy from 2011. I cant afford a gibson custom..not big on standards as i owned 2 an both didnt even play like my prophecy gx and my japan 80 les paul epi... I really did enjoy my 1975 Les Paul standard it was beat to shit when I bought it which is how I like my guitars and it came on tour same as the prophecy in the other two customs but as I said for some reason I don't know if I just got good ones my Epiphones ( all 3) just held up better I still have a late 80s Les Paul custom. The 2011 prophecy GX which to me is the best prophecy they ever made with the Gibson dirty finger pickups crazy looking quilt top in the blade and lays with two knobs and even my Korean Les Paul custom for some reason is a fucking beast I know good quality guitars and for some weird reason that $700 guitar brand new is just a fucking monster I guess I just got lucky as I've played some shitty ones but my point is those are my three favorites and if I could afford a Gibson Les Paul custom I'd probably get something similar to what you have very very nice

Even the Sterling by Music Man guitars beat the absolute crap out of any other guitar in that price range. I have a JP150 which is a $799 guitar I think, and it's way better than any comparable LTD, Schecter, Ibanez, Jackson, etc
