Thanks for the resources! I recently started working as a special education instructional assistant at an elementary school, and several of these sound like they could be really helpful.

I’m here for all of the subject matters. I used to be a firm believer in spanking. I was raised that way. I was also raised with the finger pointed in my face and poked in the chest. As an adult I realized that wasn’t proper. And as a parent I realize I want to break that style of discipline. My husband and I have been working on remaining calm and talking it out with our kid. We have definitely found ourselves navigating new waters. 😂 I would’ve never been allowed to go to my room, shut the door and yell or calm myself down. However we find allowing our kid to take a time out, go to the bedroom and scream in a pillow is helping. It helps our kid figure out his emotions and how to work through the big feelings. He always ends up coming back out and apologizing for whatever was done. Then we talk it out and how to better handle things. So it definitely proves spanking isn’t necessary.
