Hi Vidya, this is such a powerful message. Thank you for being so thoughtful and taking the time to share this. I love your content and presentation. You are the sister we need in our sisterhood of motherhood. To celebrate all kinds of moms and not tear them down or put labels on them. As a new mom I found it very hard and felt guilty to leave to newborn at 6 weeks and go back to work as a physician. I thought being a working mom was so much more difficult and felt that SAHM moms had it easier in terms of not having to deal with the long work hours, stresses, missing out on time with LO and probably having time to provide home cooked meals and keeping the house clean. How wrong and judgemental was I ! This Corona pandemic with stay at home has made me realize that SAHM have their own different set of challenges and it is equally hard for them too. I secretly wish to be back at work full time for my sanity. Please continue to share your positive vibe!

A strong mother is one who does not get bullied by the opinions of the world or even that of loved ones because a mother does not need to prove she has the best interest of her child in mind. Even if it means going against the common opinion but still doing so is what I feel a strong mother means

I loved the way you speak . You are so calm composed while speaking and conveying your thoughts. I'm a first time mom to a 6 mnth old baby gal and everytime my baby is even a little sick it makes me think if I HV gone wrong anywhere or doing enough for her or no?

Every mother is a strong mother. I feel there is no exception for this in any circumstance, as every mother thinks and does best for the child to their ability.

I love the way you put across your thoughts into words. This video actually made me think deeply about your last point of what is the definition of a strong mother. I personally feel that there shouldn't be a definition because each mom comes from such a diverse background, experience and personality that there cant be one definition that fits all. I would like to be a mom who is confident of what I am doing to the kid's development and making informed decisions, and at the same time I don't let the rules or information take over my intuition or my life :) Looking forward for more such videos.

Hi, this made me think esp the first one about milestones. I think it is just a bad space to be in - comparing your children to other children. I realised pretty quickly that it is of no use and I genuinely am happy for the other children who probably are smarter, faster or whatever than my kid. We should stop treating our children like race horses and just breathe and let them find their own paths. About being strong, does it really matter? Can there be a weak mother ? My grandmother had seven children. I wonder if she had the time to think of she was a strong mother. Our society as such puts unnecessary pressure n burden on all of us , we all need to just let it go. love your content. Hope to see more. :)

Hi vidya! Thanks for sharing your journey, it's humbling. Could you please share a video as to how you handle disagreements with your spouse/other family member infront of your kid. Also how do you regulate everyone including your spouse to follow the do's and don'ts for treating the kid as you mentioned in do's and don'ts in your previous videos as everyone has built in habits and its difficult to train everyone in the family to treat the child a particular way. Your insights on these will be really nice to know and I am looking forward to hearing it from you!

Very well explained 👍 absolutely agree with you! My daughter learned to walk properly little late and everybody was like is she okay? You can consult a doctor. But in my mind I was aware that every baby is different and she'll achieve this milestone on her own by taking her own time. So I just listened Everyone and did what my instincts said. Every mother is strong just do what you feel is good for you baby and don't listen to unwanted suggestions and don't compare your child to other child. Every baby is different. 😊

Hi, wonderful video Vidya, I would say a strong mother is someone like you who strongly believes whatever you do is the best for ur baby. Being a 1st time mom, Initially I was a weak one- lots of worries, self doubt, guilt etc.. but now with each day I am becoming STRONGER!! And thanks for the moral support u gives us for the same

I REALLY APPRECIATE THE WAY YOU COMMUNICATE WITH US! I HIGHLY REQUEST YOU TO MAKE PCOD PREGNANCY DIET AND THE YOGA IN 1st,2nd and 3rd trimesters. AS YOU HAVE SAID YOU USE TO EXERCISE BEFORE PREGNANCY ITSELF AND YOU CONTINUED THROUGH OUT IN PREGNANCY. Please take this suggestions and make a video. Waiting for it

I think every mother is strong in her own regards. Some mothers can stick to rules laid by them for their baby, while some have the fight for it with family and others. Neither life nor motherhood is perfect. You fall you learn you survive. Its a learning curve in each step. As women we should stop judging ourselves too. I sometimes am more worried about what would others say with respect to certain decision I have taken for the baby. A guilt free mother would be more happier one for sure.

Hi Vidya. Nice topic...Who is a strong mother?...Illusion or reality....I think a strong mother would be one who has conviction for all her decisions. She knows what she is doing and why.

With respect to the last one..I wonder if i am a "weak" mom. I can't stand my child crying and give in easily to her demands..she will be 2 this March. I don't refuse anything unless it's some harm to her and go out of my way to pamper her!! The woes of motherhood Vidya.. self-doubt tops the list.

I don't like to discipline unless it is absolutely necessary either, I think you'll like the book Unconditional Parenting by Alfie Kohn.

Please give some advice.

Excellent content.... According to me a strong woman is someone who doesn't succumb to the social pressure and stereotypes and is able live in her own way. I have seen my mom who was strong. She never let the stereotypes bog her down. I'm also trying to emulate her. Right from naming my child to feeding her only when she demands to many other things I try to get away from the stereotypes and casting the society has set on women especially moms. I wish all women try to be strong and Live life in their own terms. There's ultimately no user manual or instructions given as to how we should Live. Everything is correct. Similarly strong doesn't mean being stereotypically strong like cinematic version of strong woman. It's all about striking a balance and being Just to yourself.

I feel parenting is so common that if someone has raised one or Max 2 kids, they feel confident to call themselves an expert. Of course, nothing wrong in learning from someone else's experience. But like you said, the. My Way or The Highway attitude is really not ideal.

I hope I don't fall into that self declared expert category ;)
