Tip 1 & 2 are basically the same. Or Tip 1 encompasses tip 2 "get to the kitchen line". Instead I'd suggest tip 2 should be "serve & stay". New players sometimes rush in when their partner is serving and then hit the ball before letting it bounce.

Thank you for the video! I am a newer pickleball player. For tour tip #2, getting to the kitchen line after serving, how does that help when you need to obey the two bounce rule? If you run up to the kitchen line after serving and they hit it back at you in the air, you will have to let it bounce therefore if you are right at the kitchen you won’t be able to touch the ball. Am I missing something?

I think you're right that it needs to bounce a second time. The tip I was given is to serve and stay (at the service line), and then return and run (toward the kitchen line).

I’ve never seen anyone dink and put the paddle down by their side. After getting hit with a few speed ups that would change quick. I do agree with excessive movement though.

If the last tip is such a 'gamechanger', why not put it first? Spoiler: paddle up in ready position at all times. you're welcome. :D

two handed back hands in simply not needed. Learn to back hand with one hand. 2 hands is a crutch that limits you, no less power

So so weird that you think that the problem with using the wrist is the "tiny tiny muscles". Weird.

The point is to use the "larger" shoulder muscles as compared with using the wrist. This is also why we see so many players with wrist and elbow supports because of injury to lower arm muscles...they use the small muscles vs the larger ones. Great advice from the instructors. :)
@NicholasRomano-ho7kc5 ай бұрын
@@alohaleslie9407 Here is the transcript of what she says. “This next tip will help you in most of your shots, but especially dinking. One of the biggest mistakes I see in beginners make is they're very wristy when they're dinking meaning that they'll use their wrist to get the ball over the net. What that does is it causes a lot of unforced errors because you're relying on these tiny muscles to muscle that ball over the net and that's really hard. It ends up being really inconsistent.” So she says “What that does is it causes a lot of unforced errors because you're relying on these tiny muscles to muscle that ball”. Using the wrist does cause a lot of errors but the errors are NOT DUE to the fact that the wrist has tiny muscles. That is NOT THE REASON at all, or even close. She doesn’t understand why the errors occur and blames it on the fact that the muscles in the wrists are tiny. She goes on to say “It ends up being really inconsistent.” Why yes, using the wrist too much does lead to inconsistency, but not because of why she professes it does. If she doesn’t understand the “WHY” in this video, then she is misleading her viewers on the root of the problem. And if she is misleading them in this video, then the reasonable question is “how many other videos does she have where she misleads them as well because she doesn’t understand the underlying mechanics?”
