This is really handy. I'm an english girl who is married to a pakistani and have absolutely no idea how to make these currys that my mother in law is obviously so good at. She has taught me a few but when I do them myself at home it never comes out the same 😂
@cheekykitten254 жыл бұрын
Hey I know what u mean at first I had no clue and would be on the phone to my mum for every recipe lol. Then u realise there’s no exact recipe measurements it’s a bit of this and a bit of that. Lol. Sometimes she’d miss to tell me things too lol, there’s a basic curry base and with everything you work around to suit your taste.

I'm also a revert married to Pakistani, 6 years now. Alhamdulilah now I can cook every single thing his heart desires 😂 my sister in law taught me the basics but honestly sis, watching KZbin videos taught me the majority and it really helps so much! I can make everything by memory now and once you've been doing it for a while it just comes naturally! Another good Pakistani cooking channel to watch is yes I can cook x

Just a little advice, I've been cooking for a long time and followed some top Asian chefs. You're sequence of ingredients are kinda wrong, I mean if you like cooking your way it is fine. To cook an authentic curry, you should brown the onions first, then add the chillies, then add the spices. This combination will let out the flavour and aroma of the base ingredients. Then add the 'wet' ingredients like tomatoes. This way your tarka is ready for the main meat or veg etc. I noticed you cooked tomatoes then added the onions, which wont brown because of the water! But people can cook how they want, I suppose I'm being too particular! My favourite chef is Madhur Jaffrey, she a wonderful chef.😁
@sabz74734 жыл бұрын
I followed her karahi recipe but in the order you’ve said because that’s how I always do it but it was very bland? I followed her measurements for the spices and the same amount of meat but it didn’t seem right at all, it wasn’t even just a lack of spice it was a lack of flavour all together😕
@Reshna_964 жыл бұрын
I can not have chicken curry or any kind of meat curry without whole spices! For me i have to add cardamom, bay leaves, cardamom stick etc..can’t have it just with spices.

You should try boiling the spinach and making a puree before adding it to the chicken in the first recipe. Turns out EPIC, much better than wilted spinach leaves 😊

Salaam Shamsa Love your Recipes Masha'Allah. Why dont you use a pressure cooker for the meat. It will take 20 mins to soften the meat and it will save your time. Hope you give it a try. Trust me it will save your time.

Another good idea is the pressure King Pro, I use that for meat, dry kidney beans, chick peas etc, much safer than a traditional pressure cooker and easier to use x
