The Australian lungfish shouldve got a mention imo, they date back 100 million years with little changes to their physiology. The family group also dates back roughly 400 million years

Didn't he already mention all that in his video specifically on lungfish?

@@ANTSEMUT1 yes he did but I would've thought they'd also get a mention again as they are 1 of only a few species that date back that far whilst still alive today. Being that this video was titled "5 prehistoric fish still alive today"

Australian lungfish have existed (the species itself) for 28 million years, which is far longer than almost all vertebrate species. The only other vertebrate species I know that have existed for such amounts are whale sharks (also 28 million years) and nurse sharks (112 million years)

The lungfish is one of the most ancient and bizarre fish on earth. Sturgeon are also pretty darn old. I have caught gar and paddlefish, in fact paddlefish are very strictly regulated in my state and the population has remained stable here. They can’t be caught by traditional methods, because they are filter feeders- people use heavy line and huge treble hooks to snag them. This species is probably the best chance a freshwater angler has to catch a truly giant fish. The eggs are sold as caviar, and the meat is delicious.

Should include Coelacanths, first appeared during the Devonian Period roughly 400 million years ago, about 170 million years before the dinosaurs. Based on the fossil record, they were thought to have vanished during the mass extinction that wiped out about three-quarters of Earth's species following an asteroid strike at the end of the Cretaceous Period.

The DNR saw him do that they went up to him and they were not happy, took it off the stinger let it go then they arrested him.

I watched my friend successfully stab a sea lamprey with a pocket knife when we were kids. It was kinda cruel considering their native where i live but it was also one of the most impressive things I’ve ever seen a child do. We literally just spotted 2 of them in the river while walking by and without skipping a beat he just took his shoes off rolled up his jeans n waded right up to them and stabbed one right in the back like it was just part of his everyday routine. It was crazy.
