Just want to say in my mother tongue appreciation for your sharing. Merci beaucoup! Hobbyist having lost is job in printing at 56 and per the vid I watched before about what you learned getting your 1st Mil, I have to ''pivot'' my mindset. 2 years in this trade, I've gotten sales mainly by word of mouth. I've already saved this vid for tonigth listening as I'm making noise now. I'm sure this will bring me more insigth to give my small shop a better visibility. Thanks again!

Great video and congrats on the success! One thing, in the digital space, you are likely to get caught for ip infringement. I thought the same thing, I’m a small fish and there are over 10,000 items. I was wrong. Before I even made a sale, I got an email from Etsy via the companies lawyer. It was scary. Then I learned, Etsy has kicked people off after one of these. Some people have over 10 and still in business. Digging more into it, there does seem to be more leniency for brick and Mordor because it’s harder to track down and enforce. I had a best seller after 3 weeks, digital download. While I didn’t get flagged for that item, 3 others did get flagged. If etsy bands you, you can’t sell or shop. Your IP is blocked and new ones too, if they find out it’s you. It was the hardest things, to deactivate a listing that made me $500 in a few weeks, put my shop on the map, and simultaneously pulled other listing up in search. Just a cautionary tale for those going into the digital space and posting your items online.

Really appreciate this content. To the point with an agenda to teach. I always feel like I learned something. Not just another paid advertisement disguised as an “honest review” like every other woodworking channel out there. If you subscribe to a lot of woodworking channels you know what I’m taking about. Glad to see you making content again.

I’m really loving the business aspects of your videos. All the do’s and don’ts and lessons learned. What would you say were some turning points in your journey, when you took big steps forward or backwards and what were the catalysts? Could be a mindset shift, getting a big order, a stroke of good or bad luck, or something completely out of your control. Also, anything about customer acquisition and standing out from the crowd of me too Etsy sellers (whether one sells on Etsy or not). How do you create a moat around your business? Just my ramblings for now. Looking forward to your next video!

Really appreciate Videos like that, they always help to discover some ways to generate business I didn’t think of so far. Also wanted to thank you for producing content that is actually valuable to people, and not just „buy my course“ or the 23rd product „review“ of something they’ve owned for 2 days and got for free.

Great video! I would love to hear your journey on taking on employees. Such as what went well for you, what department you hired in first. Would you do anything differently if you started again regarding taking on employees? Would you have taken on more employees sooner in your growth journey. Thanks in advance, keep up the great work on the new videos my favourite woodworking channel.

i had no idea that putting team logos on stuff and selling them was illegal lol.
@edschultheis9537
@edschultheis9537 Жыл бұрын
I believe it is illegal because the universities and professional teams have copyrights, trademarks and such for their logos. They license the rights to use these logos to specific manufacturers for specific products. They want to control how their logos are used, and they also want to make money off of licensing deals. So, if someone uses these logos without their permission, they may get a nasty letter from the lawyer for the university telling them to cease and desist use of their logo. Also, I believe that if a university or professional team does not enforce their rights to copyright and trademark, they can lose those rights.

Ask that iron guy how to make products with personalization without having a laser machine. I think having only a CNC machine to cope with this task is not so easy.
@cutting-it-close
@cutting-it-close Жыл бұрын
I used a CNC to personalize for 5 years then finally got a laser, a CNC engraving looks much more expensive than a laser engraving if you present it well!
