Please keep making these kinds of videos dude. You are literally the only person on KZbin that teaches this genre of music. And the way you break down each drum beat makes it easier for me to learn it. Please keep doing the LEARN 5 HARDCORE/PUNK beats. Maybe if you could, do some slower break-down type beats. That'd be cool. Anyways, keep on keeping on ✊ ive burned through all your videos like 5 times a piece so we need more stuff lol

I played drums for Sick Pleasure and Code of Honor back in the 80s, and I remember trying to talk Al from MDC out of playing so fast. The same songs would just get faster and faster until they went by in a blur, and Al's beats were turning back on themselves and losing all tension and dynamics. Speed Rules OK? I don't know. Anyway, I really admire your drumming and you remind me a bit of Chuck Biscuits. Which is a compliment!
@PrettyCoolDrumShow3 жыл бұрын
That rules!! Thanks for the kind words! I love those Danzig records so I definitely take that as a compliment! Funny that sometimes playing things too fast can really take away the groove! Who are you? Are you in a band? You should if you're not, but you missed very important punk beats that I've been playing since 1980, and my friend Erik Sandin displays what I'm referring to very well in his body of work. Those early beats are different than what you're playing here. Those lightening double kick snare patterns were taught to me by Erik. We used to jam out in his basement in 1983-1984. Also research the D-Beat under my pals Channel, Spike T. Smith to reference the D-Beat you've left out here that are is bit more important falling in the timeline of punks beats that are all mainly rock beats sped up, and the ones you've chosen here are basic/standard punk beats that also bleed over into metal crossover '85-'86, otherwise very well done Tommy. 👏🏻😃👋🏻🥁 Time to make a top 10 list! Lol!
@PrettyCoolDrumShow3 жыл бұрын
Hey Brian! Already beat you to it (hehehe) as I just posted a d-beat lesson video a couple days ago, you should watch it and let me know if I’m doing it any justice! Also, notice how the title of the video is called “5 punk beats” not “all of the punk beats” so naturally there will be some beats missing from the video since there’s more than 5 beats used in punk and hardcore. I plan on making more videos every week so I’ll eventually have them all covered, I hope. Anyway, I appreciate the support! I grew up listening to NOFX, and Erik’s drumming definitely influenced me when I was starting out especially the double kick pattern you referenced. Thanks again!
