You have my favorite drum style and musical taste of all the KZbin teachers. Any chance you’d do a video for more beginner punk fills? Putting them in the context of a slow beat really helps. Stuff along the lines of the 2nd and 3rd beat.

Yo I know these tutorial videos are a couple years old but they’re helping me out a lot would you ever consider doing a hi hat technique for punk drumming? Specifically how you go fast 16ths without muscling it out?
@eugenemclemmont4045 Жыл бұрын
Use your wrists not your arms, arms are for the showman, wrists get it done. Make sure your totally comfortable at the kit. Practice does make perfect. Thats all i can tell you. Keep at it.

Does fills have to be in 4/4 as the beat? Like if you have 4/4 beat like kick-hihat-snare-hihat-kick-kick-snare-hihat then how do you incorporate 2nd fill that has only 14 (6+4+4) notes? do you just add additional hihat in the beginning and end it with cymbal?
@PrettyCoolDrumShow3 жыл бұрын
Not sure if I’m understanding the question, but you can add fills in wherever you want, it doesn’t have to be the entire 4/4 measure. It can be just a couple hits on the snare or the fill can be the whole 4/4 measure if you want. But basically you subtract whatever drum/cymbal hits from the beat and replace them with the fill of your choice.
