Just gonna pop a wee thank you comment down here, I’ve been living away from Edinburgh for a wee while now as I’m serving in the army but your videos keep me smiling when I’m getting a wee bit home sick, I’ve learnt a lot of little facts about Edinburgh that i tell to the mrs or my friends when i rarely get to come back up to the best wee city on the planet, cheers for helping keep the homesick blues a bay

I love the blue person on the building - makes me smile every time I walk past it! And I'd never spotted the curtains on the outside of that building - I'm going to take a look at them next time I go to Princes Street.

The cow was there before the cow parade in 2006. That bar used to be called Nectar bar, we uses to drink under age there in at least 2004/2005 and the cow was there then

Hi Tony, I visited Edinburgh on Saturday and went to the Botanic Gardens, but I'll need to come back next week (from Fife) to look for all your 'random' things. Well done for giving us a laugh with your informative videos. Gordon Taylor.

Interesting story when we arrived in Scotland for the first time. We arrived in Edinburgh and we were at Waverley station and then my husband got hit with bird poop on his shoulder. It must have been good luck because we had an amazing time in Edinburgh!

The Council offices with the cows on the roof also have a 7' man near the front entrance on Waverley Court, easily seen from East Market Street as it stands on a tall ladder-type structure. He's supposed to represent the ordinary person and is familiarly called Joe Public.

I'm in Edinburgh durring this weekend. I've seen that cow in two parts. Funny 🤣 Speaking about funny things. Do you remember that wall with cannon ball. I've spotted something else. There is something like kind of black electricity box with attached cables. It's C4 been written on it. 😜. Cheers for massive amounts of tips from beautiful Edinburgh.

So random, I love it 😁, really enjoyed this really made me laugh out loud. We came across the cow in the wall and both commented at the same time” There’s a cow in the wall! “ It’s this type of thing that makes you think life’s quite normal and I’m not loosing my mind 😂

Hi Tony, I'm in Edinburgh today and have spotted your 5 random 'things'; but on my way down to Holyroodhouse, I spotted what looks like another well-head (dated 1817) opposite Whitefoord House... can you shed any light? Gordon Taylor.

Artisan bagpipe makers still do most of it by hand so every instrument is slightly different as opposed to the mass produced pipemakers who use computer controlled machinery to produce a higher volume of identical instruments.

Bit of research the cow on the cowgate is there as there was a law cattle couldn’t be driven through the city streets but in 1490 cowgate wasn’t part of Edinburgh so was exempt from the rule which meant people used the street to sell cattle at the grass market. The blue man/woman I am lead to believe is just random art during lockdown.
@aprilsmith11662 жыл бұрын
The cow used to be painted entirely gold before its current colour scheme.

In reference to ... the building with the erected/demolished sign ... thought it was kind of cool that you captured on video, from elsewhere, a casted shadow of a crown ... given no doubt it was a historical building casting the crown shadow on the building of your random historical sign; that wasn’t blue with udders climbing up the wall and turning a corner ... 🤣😂🤣 sadly I laugh at what’s cool and funny at the same time when taking your random and becoming more creatively random with it. Oh my.

🤣 I have noticed 2/5 while visiting the City, never thought they were anything, but a bit of humoristic fun! 🤣 and they are!..funny, they make you smile, even on a rainy day 😝😉 hello from Denmark 🌸❄

You could stop in at the Waverly & ask them about the blue man. Their ornamentation on the columns around the door suggest a Greek theme with a head crowned with a ring of leaves.

Great video!! I'm going to find all these when I go in 2023! Also, you didn't mention the leprechaun below the blue man? Is he random or is that part of the Waverly signage?
