5 Rare/Oddball Fish for a 5-10 Gallon Freshwater Aquarium

I had a group if Dwarf Anchor Catfish, but unfortunately lost 3 of the 5 with no discernable cause. That being said, they are one of my favorite fish in the hobby. I am also psyching myself up to make a blackwater ecosystem aquarium for Crocodile Toothpicks, Black Tiger Badis, and Chili Bororas.

Some of more the more common species you can find at an LFS. But your best bets are online or having them be special ordered by your LFS. If you're in the US, The Wetspot Tropical Fish has a few species in regularly, they've had the most species for sale by far. Goodluck with your search!

I have 2 males licorice gouramis in a 10gallon and they are my favourite fish I have ever kept. I also happen to have a anchor cat but he seems so skinny. I never seen him eat but I’ve had him for like 7 months so I know he’s eating

Since you've seen them in person - how well do green Raspbora actually school in a like 50G in larger groups?

Honestly they kind of just shoal around, they act more like Harlequin and Porkchop Rasboras in the sense that they'll stick around each other, but won't be as tight in a group like Rummynose Rasboras where they'll follow each other's every move. They do make a nice group fish, but not if you want something that'll stay extremely tight in a group
