Buddy, I've lived in Knoxville,TN my whole life. We stayed in the mountains in the summer. I've waded in every creek and river. There are things that only the Cherokee have ever seen, and some regular people too. The windigo ,I , myself, believe whole heartedly does exist. I've heard All the stories and that is definitely one I believe I have actually seen. That's why I don't go anywhere without some kind of weapon, knife, tazer, something.

Have you ever heard of the disease known as "Kuru"? It's caused by humans eating too much human meat. We have a protein in our meat that doesn't break down no matter how it's cooked or how long you cook it but that's how the wendigo lore originated. The medical world "discovered" it thanks to the cannibal tribes of Papa New Gueni(sp?). 🌈The More You Know🌈

Considering how big and strong the Wendigo is proported to be, you'd better pack a 12 Guage or a 45-70

@@RainZen19.223,.556,7.62X39 or some other higher caliber rifle is always a good choice. Carrying a .9mm or larger pistol as a backup weapon is always a good idea too. You never know what you might run into out in the woods,so if you are able to go armed, then it’s always a good idea!!!

I live a few hours from Pigeon Forge, but have vacationed there 20+ times. I’ve only experienced one encounter in all my visits and that was in the rental cabin we were in that year. The entity would whisper in my ear when we’d go to bed. I could feel the wind from the breath as well as hear words that I couldn’t understand. It sounded like it was speaking a foreign language. My husband, who was laying next to me couldn’t hear anything and laughed off my terror. I said my prayers, then covered my head with the blanket at bedtime the rest of the time we were there. It would happen the moment I layed in the bed. It was not a dream. We’ve stayed in motels, hotels and other cabins with nothing strange happening, but I’ll never forget the feeling of that breathe on my neck. I remember the cabin was beteeen pigeon forge and Gatlinburg on the right side of the parkway. It was up a mountain with about 100 other cabins.

I love the smokeys, have camped and hiked all over the place. It's been a long time since I have been. I have never had a scare camping, but then I don't scare easily. In my opinion the scariest thing about the woods, is whatever human you may run into, or a Mama bear with hungry cubs. And of course getting lost out there, which I have done, that was one hell of a day hike! lol. We grow some good smokey stuff up here in OH too.

One thing that the first story reminded me of is something I thought to be a good guideline. If the area you're in has little to or no other people then that should always be a sign to turn right back round and leave. Some of these monster stories have started, after all, with there being absolutely no other people there or only those that have to be there or the few already there leaving seemingly the split second the people in the story arrive.
