The kansept baba yaga looks like its halfway between the kizer bulldog and the kubey monsterdog.

It will be interesting to see what that Kubey/Hoback KB400 sells for, as it seems to be identical to the Hoback Sumo that Jake was selling for >$500 when everyone thought they were USA made. Based upon this model, I'd guess that Kubey was making them all along.

Nip slip looks great Divo is pushing out some great designs this year. Finch styling is cool blending that old look with new materials, just wish they made them in bigger sizes. Baba Yaga looks interesting, but enough with the horrible sharpening choils or the ability to at least cut your own in. Knives are tools and need to be sharpened to keep them working, not just a smile as it can also damage your stones if not careful. Designers vs users i guess. Will never buy a Hoback knife especially with a horrible clip that makes you not want to use it lol. Sardine tin is a cool idea but would have preferred like an Altiods tin that could be used again for something else, definatly a gimmick knife in my opinion, something you would see at a dollar store kind if thing. Thanks for the great vid Jerad and keep making sharp things fun and enjoyable.

So got the hapstone Start Diamond stones set... what's your opinion on the best or your favorite set of stones from reprofiling to final edge... hard steels..... your the man theese days bro! Thanks for all your do!
@NeevesKnives13 күн бұрын
I have a lot of videos on this topic, my absolute favorites are bonded diamond or cbn as far as plates go my favorite it hapstone cbn start or Atomss. I like to have either a hapstone start 100, or atoma 140 for reprofiling then go to Bonded stones for everything else

Bladehq has and exclusive qsp penguin with aluminum handles and S90v for $90. What do you think the odds are that the heat treat is good? For that price it seems worth the risk.

That Nip Slip is mighty cake. Sweeney is Excellent …I like the Hoback thing…I knew when you said you had a negative….it would be the clip. Good group. El Thank. Cheers

I don't usually care about slip jointed knives because I had a few close on my fingers but that one was nice because I love the wharncliffe blades. I always love hearing you joke around, when you said "The Belly" on the FINCH undertaker knife cracked me up! I really like when a company does something different and it can just be the tiniest thing like the glow part in the handle was really nice! I never held, or owned a FINCH knife, are they that good of a knife? Man Kansept has been stepping up with their knives a lot! So much I had to acquire a couple of them and I really like the name of this one! Who wouldn't want to own a Kansept BABA YAGO, just saying the name is fun, lol. I love front flipper knives plus the Berg Blades Sweeney looked nice! I love having multiple deploying options on knives. I sent an email to Frankensteins Transformations, and told them you wanted to see what all they do and you wanted to talk to them also what all do they do. I was wondering if they emailed you yet?

You might like to check out slip-joints with a finger-choil like the Spyderco UKPK and Twisted Assisted Junzi. Due to the choil, it makes the slip-joint almost impossible to close on one's delicate fingers.

I will check and see, they might have but I can't remember. Thank you for that I do appreciate it

Really wish knife companies would get the sharpening choil / plunge grind right! A bad choil is like getting a beautiful sports car with a bad paint job. Yeah, it'll run, but it ain't gonna be pretty doing it. Jared, you need to chat w MC. He doesn't think it matters and says choils been that way forever.
@NeevesKnives13 күн бұрын
Yeah i don't think he does alot of sharpening. I guarantee if I sharpened one of his favorite knives and made a huge ugly smile on the plunge after sharpening then it would matter

Hey Michael. Not to be simplistic, but in regards to the suggestion of Our Channel Host chatting with the high dollar knife salesman on a channel with two Initials...some folks yap (talk) and some folks do the walk (do). Some think they know and some folks, like our Host do know. ✨😺
@michaelinsc97248 күн бұрын
@timothyruth4980 We are in agreement regarding this issue. As I know they've chatted before that that Jared is held in high opinion, I was hoping he might be able to inform others. That's all. The more people sqawking about bad plunge grinds the better, wouldn't you agree?
