As someone who has lived there and have family living there for over 40 years Rehoboth and those beaches are a mess in the summer and getting more year round. Reason is they have no growth laws or required infrastructure. Good ol boy mayors get their wallets greased by builders. Look at RT9 and the MASSIVE ACRES and ACRES of new homes. Look at rt 26 and the millions of homes in all those communities that need the 2 lane rt 26 to go anywhere. All the families that have lived there for generations and generations are forced to move in land due to excessive greed and high prices. You cannot have a million homes fed by a couple of roads. I loved the place in the 80s and 90s it was small town on the ocean. Sadly now its a cluster anytime but the winter.

Traffic is horrible. Too many tourists.

I cut grass around the Rehoboth Lewis area and the main complaint I here after people move here is that they might as well be 100 miles from the beach because you ain't getting there in the Summer.
@MattLunden2 жыл бұрын
Summer traffic is pretty brutal especially south of Five Points. It’s definitely an exercise in patience to drive route 1 in the heat of the summer

2:55 LOL there's literally a walmart, giant, and weis market just under 2 miles away from the rehoboth ave. What do people expect? The stores to be in walking distance!? Haha.

True and add Target, Home Depot, Lowes and a crap ton of outlet Big Brand stores.

I mention 2 stores - target & Trader Joe’s that are a common theme of what people want. Many local Facebook groups have multiple posts asking for these 2 specific stores, I enjoy what we have here

I love Rehoboth in Spring and Early summer, but as soon as you hit July and August it's unbearably crowded.
@MattLunden2 жыл бұрын
The crowds definitely get heavy in the summer. Spring & Fall are gorgeous times of year with many less people to contend with

Rehoboth is a horrible place. I never go north of Highway 26 in season. Rehoboth is like a Washington DC suburb placed next to the ocean. Lewes, Bethany, and Fenwick Island are much better towns than Rehoboth.
@louismirabal1782 Жыл бұрын
I love the area and am not a fan of traffic and congestion for 3 months. What it’s a good option out of the flood zones and traffic but still accessible to Rehoboth, Bethany or Lewes beaches ?

Great video. Still, if I had the money to buy a house within 4 blocks of the beach in Rehoboth I would be there now. The town has managed to maintain its charm, even with the massive build-up. The boardwalk is great for adults and children. The beach gets crowded but you never feel like it's mobbed. Rehoboth has a je ne sais quoi quality to it that I haven't found elsewhere north of the Outer Banks. I'll be headed down soon for a 2-3 night stay.

I agree!!! Just visited again, for 3 nights. Love the charm so much!!! It’s actually never too crowded when I go. You can walk further down on the sand, if you want some isolation in busy times. And love the old buildings! Brings such nostalgia and peace! I guess it’s a better place to just visit then live there?

They built to many development off Route 9/24 . The roads can’t handle this many cars.
@MattLunden2 жыл бұрын
Yeah that’s a big reason for the 24 project deldot has planned. A lot of that road is being widened to accommodate the additional traffic

Hey Domingo! I do some business in the southern end of Kent County, but the northern end is a bit far for me to consider myself highly knowledgeable in that area. Drop me an email if I can help answer some questions - matt@mayerslundengroup.com
