I was in Rehoboth Beach and Dewey beach in the beginning of the month for vacation, and absolutely loved both places. Next time I should definitely visit Lewes!

Another big con is that the sand is slightly larger granularly and therefore less accommodating for sandcastle building than, say, the sands of the Jersey Shore.

As a real estate agent I’m very limited in what I can say in regards to crime rates. I would suggest googling or looking up the fbi crime reports.

why is Lewes mostly full time residents vs other coastal communities?

There are less tourist attractions in Lewes & more full time residents tend to move there vs Rehoboth. Rehoboth has all of the tourist attractions so it tends to get very busy In the summer time

I hope Lewis residents will consider serving on town planning boards or running for local office to limit/guide the new building that’s going on…otherwise, Lewes WILL lose its small town charm and be choked by traffic. Another idea is to vote to end any new fossil fuel infrastructure - we must clean up our grid and go electric!

There are plenty of smaller one floor housing units being built here - they just won't be "beachfront"

There are lifeguards at Savannah beach in Lewes which is where the beach parking lot is & at the ocean beach in Cape Henlopen State Park. There are not life guards north of that along the shoreline
