I got an email from Tesla 3-4 weeks ago with an invite to join the Cybercab event in Amsterdam, but when I tried to reserve my spot, the event was already fully booked, this was just an hour after I received the email. So interest in The Netherlands is very high, we are looking forward to when FSD (supervised) 12 or even 13 gets available here (We are basically stuck at a version from 2020!!, Phantom braking galore!!)

Hi Herbert Last week in Portugal a consortium going by the name of Be.Neutral formed in 2021 with internationally known companies as members, funded by the EU and Portuguese government showed the BEN EV designed for City only transport. Be.Neutral seeks to position Portugal as an exporter of cyber-physical zero-carbon mobility products to cities around the world. BEN was designed for European cities with with narrow streets and speed limits but aims for FSD initially in 9 cities. Many people are unaware that in several European countries - Finland, Estonia, Norway, The Netherlands, Portugal autonomous public transport is already in operation today a good indicator that FSD may well catch on faster in Europe then many of us think! Introduction will most probably in stages through public transport and vary by area and country - FSD will be unstoppable!

Jan is mixing up the Renault Twizy with the Renault ZOE. The Twizy is the two seater and is not produced anymore. The ZOE (4 seater compact) used to be the best selling EV in Europe and has evolved very nicely with proper range, now replaced with the new (and cool) Renault 5.

I think Full autonomy will be allowed sooner in Europe than 2028, and subsequently the Cybercab will be allowed to operate here too. I think early 2026. By the looks of it legislation should be ready mid 2025, and I think what is happening in the US, will make sure it won't be delayed because Europe does not want to be left behind. It even could be a chance for Europe to regain some of its former reputation to be the innovative continent, ahead of the US. But we will see, for sure a lot is going on behind the scenes. Also, Tesla won't wait for everything be settled, factories will be built at Berlin ahead of time, to produce the millions of Cybercabs that ultimately will be necessary in Europe. Tesla will take the risk of it being delayed as the risk of being TOO LATE is much bigger and will have larger consequences (Waymo or Uber will take the opportunity, or some Chinese company, leaving Tesla behind) After that, it is just a matter of Tesla showing the data they have Cybercabs/robotaxis being 10-100 times better than human driving allowing Tesla to roll out the robotaxi network all over Europe.. I think Netherlands could be the first country in Europe where Robotaxi's will be driving around, because our roads are excellent, and we will not have the push back from legacy car makers.. The government is also quite pro innovation and reducing costs for its people. Anyway the convergence of Cybercab factory ready + legislation+ reputation+ FSD capability will accelerate the advance to Robotaxis in Europe.

EU is a joke how many car crashes and injuries would be avoided if they put effort into approving use of Tesla’s feature, my model 3 with AI 4 with the licence of FSD is not allowed to turn tighter than a long sweeping bend “auto steer limited be prepared to take over” then it will veer onto the wrong side of the road and abort People shouldn’t take this lying down nothing funny about it

You have to remember that even though that €750 might be less money given exchange rates, QOL in Europe is vastly higher, and everyone has healthcare that's better than the US and significantly cheaper, and we have annual leave of 20-30 days depending on country and on and on and on. So I suspect that €750 is a lot more useful. Oh, and you can easily get European and international food here and the meat you buy here is not covered in chlorine. No that anyone who is buying a mid range brand new car genuinely needs money because they're the fools we all love to buy second hand cars from and always have been :D And yes, I've been that fool and regret it :D
