The return to home feature when it's out of range is sick. I though I lost the drone into a lake but it came back to me thankfully.

As a guy who’s fairly new to droning, I would also add that any fears I had about a leap in complexity in buying the DJI FPV were totally unfounded. It was a piece of cake to move from my Mavic Mini to the DJI FPV. I prepped myself before my first flight by flying an FPV simulator for 30 hours. Definitely was not needed AT ALL. If you can fly a Mini, you can fly this. Great overview!

This is a great overview on the transition from traditional FPV to DJI FPV. Ease of use is going to make this hobby within reach of so many people.

I love this drone. It’s works well for me. Can’t wait to see what comes next! I would love to see a DJI FPV 3 inch manual mode only with the gps and emergency stop button but be more durable. That would be awesome!!

I have the DJI FPV set up but I seldom fly it. I’m doing close in proximity mostly right now (crash a lot) and this drone is not a good candidate for that. Way too delicate but she’s great in other applications for all the reasons you mentioned. Thanks for reminding about all the pluses.

Air-Unit V2 will likely be dedicated VTX running 2.4ghz (Occusync 3) and maybe 5.8ghz for backwards compatibility. Why not put a 15$ GPS or a 5$ beeper on your Nazgul? It's not RTK-GPS but it'll bring it back into range and / or give you coordinates to find a downed bird and hear her beeping. And just learn to build... learning Manual Mode takes at least 9 months to learn to fly confidently; learning to solder and how to spec a drone takes an hour or two every evening for 2-3 weeks.... plus; then you can go into shoots with confidence that there won't be any problems / know how to fix any the pop up! Great video though mate, looking forward to the next one.

For me it's still just worth buying RTF. I totally get where you're coming from - but 2-3 weeks is a huge chunk of time for me - and then theres traveling around with all the gear that's extra as well. I always just have 2 drones on deck for shoots and that's worked pretty well so far. Some day I'll set some time aside though haha

@@Mcgeee Thats fair man, only reason I had the time to dive in as deep as did was cuz of COVID gov restrictions squashing my bookings. And I get the minimalism of travel kits, all fair points!

I really wish this video and the 5 worst things video you made were the most viewed reviews of the DJI FPV Drone. After 5 years in fpv, I find it shameful that non-drone-related channels are completely misrepresenting the hobby in their (surely sponsored) videos. Thanks for doing it right!

I was thinking about FPV but... went with Mavic 3 instead. 8 min of flight ain't cutting it 4 me. 35 min does.

Hi man, love your style and editing, reminds me when i was a skater/bmxer in the early 90s, cool. ANYWAY QUEASTION, ive flown mild 3d on 500 size helis for 20 years and actualy worked on automotive mechatronics , basically tuning PID Closed loop controls when the world went arduino mad! Would this drone be ok for me? I cant be bothered with soldering and tuning and mix and matching electronics anymore, soooo, CAN A MILD 3D RC HELI PILOT USE THIS AS THIER FIRST DRONE?

There is no really a reason to buy that drone. RTH is available also in many other drones. And the price of battery is ridicilous.

MMhh.. I don't know.. DJI is removing the learning curve from stuff people should really go through, remember that "Lost" episode? The one where "Locke shows Charlie a moth cocoon, and explains that he could help the moth by slitting the cocoon and letting the moth free, but it would not survive because it would be too weak. Instead, the moth needs to struggle to break free. Nature and struggle make people stronger, Locke says, indicating to Charlie that he needs to fight through his suffering". I think it's the same, you have to struggle to make it, learn and be a real pilot. Letting people fly "out of the box" an almost 800 grams drone at over 100 km/h can be _really_ *really* dangerous.
