Great video, also using a router-only is more efficient such as the “Ubiquity EdgeRouter 12P”, you can connect the AP’s using PoE, that pass electric power along with data on the same lan cable to the access points.

Thanks for sharing! You're right PoE could also come in very handy 👍

I've been considering a PF Sense setup and just configuring a couple of my routers as APs. When ever I have used PF Sense in the past things have felt more stable.

What you are saying here Behfor, make sense without any question. The issue however comes from the availability in the market for such capability. You named one single device in your video from Sisco as an example, honestly how many more devices like that you can find in today's market if you are not planning to go over $1k spending just for one single router in your house? The options are very very limited. Even worse, for a few available options, there are some flaws that make us think twice for such a change.

Have you checked out the pfsense ? I used Cisco in this video because I happen to have one.

I really enjoy your videos. I am student of tech myself :D. Would you make a video about autoreboot in ASUS AiMesh network? I am really interested about your thoughts.

I find it easier just to use a single device, less devices to manage and less network and power cables. I only need two cables for that device and that's it.

As I understand, as a user, one has to use ethernet to connect the A.P.’s to the internet, this can’t be done wireless. Used to the wireless device called router, I never give a thought to the different functions of the device, usually called ‘router’ and then leave those different functions to be conducted by different devices, designed for those functions, to create redundancy and a robust network. Good video again Behfor!

Could I make it like this, modem -> router -> deco XE75 (access point x2 as there are two units)?

Your videos are top notch! Well presented and you explain everything so simply but oh so clearly! I'm a new fan. Thanks dude! Q. I have just installed a mesh network...Strong Atria ax3000 x3 nodes. I didnt want my TP Link power line to gather dust and I have one room in my house where the signal still isnt great. I set everything up but for some reason the 'clone wifi name and SSID/password' fearure didnt work. Even if I was to set this manually and change the password/SSID to match my router's, will this cause a clash on the mesh? Wifi 5 added onto wifi6?. I tried using my EE smart router instead of the TP link. (Wifi5 ac) but couldnt figure that out settings wise. Is it possible to have say the EE router connected thru powerline to my main primary router? (one of the mesh nodes- connected directly to the FTTP ONT modem from my ISP) I just want to use the router for its wifi and it still be the same SSID & PW as my primary router node. Or... should I just use the TP link powerline, which has a wifi signal on one of the units? 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz. Max 1000mbps? Would love to tap into your expertise here! I just thought I would try to recycle and make use of existing hardware, though the easiest option (but not cheapest) would be to buy another single Strong Atria ax3000 mesh node. Thx in advance!!! One of your vids where you play the drum 🥁 i loved your charisma (Thats the first vid of yours I saw btw) As a veteran classroom trainer I love the way you capture your audience and keep them tuned in! A pleasure to learn from you! A lot of other wifi/tech youtubers could benefit from watching a pro like yourself! 👍🏼 I just watched an appalling vid where the speaker made so many assumptions about what people knew about connecting two routers via powerline. It was dreadful and I didnt even watch it all.

I've just recently bought Asus RT-Ax86u Pro and for now im really happy with it. The only thing that is a little bit sad is that it has only one 2.5Gbit port and the second one must be done through Link aggregation or by USB 3.0 adapter which on the other hand will occupy the only USB 3.0 port on it, second USB is 2.0.. But i dont think i will have to be much concerned about this, because we dont have that fast internet in our village and therefore it would be concern only for LAN which is enough for us now

I have given this some thought (yeaps, smoke was coming-out of my ears ;) For most home & home-office users great software/UI is takes priority over hardware. Soooo based-on your super-great videos, I thinks I eventually get an ASUS all-in-1 router. Also you might try getting & doing videos on an inexpensive NAS applicance. Synology has the bestest software/UI (DS1823+ or Bust ;). PS: Pls keep keeping it simple/short/sweet/etc (for people just like me ;)

Hey Ben… I have 4 ASUS XT8 in my home . I have spread out the clients evenly as much as I could by using the binding feature. Does this help the main XT8 not be overloaded ??? Main XT8 has about 40 clients other 3 nodes have about 15 each

WHEN USING Mi 4C WIRELESS ROUTER A LOT OF US EXPERIENCE THESE ISSUES. WHEN I AM JUST DOWNLOADING SOMETHING I CAN NOT EVEN USE THE INTERNET TO DO OTHER THINGS AT THE SAME TIME, LET ALONE OTHER USERS. BUT OTHER THAN THESE ISSUES THIS ROUTER CAN PROVIDE A REMOTE MANAGEMENT FEATURE IN MY BUDGET.
