Thank you so much man! I really appreciated this message. I really like your idea and I was actually going to make one soon, so I'll definitely make it. It'll be about the "working phase". In nursing, I've broken it down to "prenursing phase", "nursing school phase", and the "workforce phase". Thanks again!

So, I’m wondering… is the reason why so many nurses don’t say no to overtime is because maybe they are living way above their means. So they are getting burnt out because they don’t exercise financial restraints and living a good but economically simple life.

Definitely! Lifestyle creep can hit anyone. Nurses are susceptible. Many nurses make great money working overtime but many do get nice cars and big homes and live an inflated lifestyle. When we begin to work more out of necessity - burnout is inevitable. I prefer a gradual climb of income without overtime.

@ yes sir. Also l think like having a side hustle is good too, that way you only have to work your scheduled hours. Take me for instance I’m a certified personal trainer and currently getting my real estate license. Lord willing next year I will be in my ASN program and failure is not an option. So I would just live modestly, do my best to close a deal on an house at least once every two months, and maybe personal train people when I feel like it. Also like you mentioned about not staying at bedside for to long. My goal is child pediatric, or home health, rehabilitation, or some sort of wellness center.

@ youlll have plenty of great opportunities I would imagine for your side hustles with either of those or both. I like your approach! Goodluck on the program!

Is there flexibility of scheduling for new nurses. I’m going to be entering nursing next year and for my last jobs I’ve been a weekend warrior working 3 12 hour shifts which I love.
@MaleNurseMentor8 күн бұрын
In general there is. Each facility will have their own logistical methods of how scheduling works. But it is possible to -say do 3 12s on days you prefer. This should also improve as you become a more senior nurse on your unit. New grads typically get less choice compared to more seasoned nurses but you still get a choice.

Do you invest in the S&P 500? Like stocks and stuff? I’m not trying to work until I’m 65. The reason why I’m going into nursing is for the stability. Long term I’d like to eventually go back to CRNA.

@@Anthonyag42 I personally invest in individual stocks and ETF and Index Funds as a dividend investor. CRNAs make the most money in the nursing world - it helps to get critical care or ICU experience for admission to CRNA schools.

Well, there is a reason behind the chronic shortage of nurses
@MaleNurseMentor15 күн бұрын
Many reasons, but also - one is certainly the bottleneck of impacted nursing programs. Although many speak poorly of the field so many want to become a nurse and can’t.

Can a male nurse date a doctor? 🤔
@MaleNurseMentor13 күн бұрын
They sure can, if you find your person, it’s your person. Nurse, doctor, it’s all good.
