Indexing and using the days as normal pages is genius, thank you

I just ordered my first Hobonichi and haven't gotten it yet. Thanks for such a thorough walk through! Right away I could see the Time Table as being use to set an 'ideal week' out (search Ideal Week by Michael Hyatt) and repetitive scheduled appointments or commitments. Which basically is like saying, "if this week goes as planned, this is an overview of how I intend to spend my time". Example: On Mondays for the first two hours of my work day (period 1 & 2), I will work on administrative stuff in my biz. For hours 3 & 4 of my work day (period 3 & 4), I will work on creating content for my blog. Hour/period five is lunch, and so on. Tuesdays on hour/period 2 of my work day I attend my mastermind meetings, etc...". If you're a student you could outline your classes by time period. If you're an entrepreneur you could outline time you spend for repetitive tasks/commitments or blocks of time you allot (and commit to) for specific subjects/projects/work category/meetings/classes, and then schedule the project categories and actual tasks to support those into your weekly/daily pages. For example: Tuesdays for period 1 & 2 I work on Project X. I have 50 tasks to complete Project X. In the Time Table I would just put Project X in period 1 & 2 on Tuesdays. Then in my weekly pages I would schedule in which phase or high level task of the project I'm working on for the week (ie: Planning, Design, Validate, etc). On the daily pages I would actually schedule in the supporting project tasks I intend to do (and, if so desired, track how long they take me). That's how I intend to use it anyway! Great video. Again, thanks for the very thorough walk through!

Love this breakdown. I had the avec last year, but I found that there were so many unused daily pages, that all the wasted space stressed me out. I loved bullet journaling, but didn't have the time to set it up every month. Now I'm using the Hobonichi Weeks (been using it all year) and although I sometimes miss having daily pages, I love that all my pages are used each week. You can't go wrong with a Hobonichi, no matter which version you use. TFS!

You made a very wise choice with the avec version. I’m hating journaling right now because my book is so fat that I am having such a hard time writing on the left side 😓

ohaijoy I’m going to rewatch your videos so I can get some ideas. I thought the 12 months would have a hump until you get towards the middle. Then the happiness would fade fast as the hump would grow the other way as you get to the end of the book. You’re almost there ❤️

The month pages in the dailies used to have lines, but they took them off for this year. I think people use them for monthly goals or vision boards. I use them for an index. :)

I settled on a grid MD notebook (my 4th one!) for my 2019 pre-planning planner (as you do!) but now I'm totally kicking myself for not getting on board with the Avec system. Really appreciate your helpful flip-throughs, you're quite the enabler! :D

Smart. I am attempting a 1 Book November in a dot grid northbooks wide cahier size in the style of a hobo cousin to see f I really like it
@lisaleone22965 жыл бұрын
I have the full year cousin and i'm really liking it. But I don't have the concerns about weight, as I tend to use a rolling bag to carry stuff to and from work. You should check out the RayMay multi-use A5 cover available on Amazon. It fits the full-year one with a little room to spare for accessories, and I'm sure it would also work for your avec with a companion notebook.

hahaaa. great video. I am laughing because in the 'one book july' this year the review of Ryder carroll's book by the ladies that comprise the on book commentary had me on a tear to do a bujo in a different notebook than my avec. I already completed Jan-June avec but laid aside my July-Dec clean fresh book....I got so frustrated trying to do layouts, spreads etc that when I came to my senses and picked up my avec, I breathed a sigh of relief to have so much 'done' for me. I have blank pages for July since I was elsewhere, but I know how to use them--or not and just bujo in my hobo with great planner peace. Hope you love the avec. your thoughtful commentary video is my happy Thursday moment!

Thanks for this sylvia. I just received one for 2020 and enjoyed going through it with you. I see less pages in this one. I ordered the whole year not knowing it is quite heavy. In the back this one has only 5 pgs of grid and is missing a few more. I guess there may be these changes year to year. I. Looking forward to using it. Thanks again.

wow same! I almost bought the Jibun Techo but I really just felt like if I was going to pay for a planner I'd want the daily space. The weekly only spread feels like something I can do in a notebook for like half the price myself. I also went with the avec and I am super happy bc it fits in a Kokuyo Systemic WITH a breeze notebook from Taroko Shop which is awesome

Elena Melling Yes! I did contemplate buying Tomoe River paper to print on for the year. I do print my inserts from time to time on it. The cost is around $15 for 50 pages, so when you look at it that way, with printing ink, this is a steal 😊

I think that little poster is a comic strip but i could be wrong as i can only say my name hello and good morning in Japanese. Tomoe Rivere is extremely fountain pen friendly!! As to the size of tje grid being too small i think its because it is a Japanese planner and their kanji, hiragana and katakana symbols are smaller than Englush character. I know their pens are smaller tjan our Western pens for that reason.
