5 Reasons You Should Lift Your Jeep
Here are 5 reasons why you should lift your Jeep Wrangler or Jeep Gladiator! I am planning to modify our 2022 Jeep Wrangler with a Clayton Off-Road lift kit, and I wanted to share some of the benefits if you are considering doing the same.

Personally I like my 35" tires and the fact that everything is on the Mopar warranty. But after installing the bumper and winch yeah the rake is more pronounced. I will probably just add a 1" leveling kit in the front to regain the drop from the weight and call it a day. On my Jk I had a 3.5" lift and I always had death wobble problems.... So Ill keep my JLU XR as stock as possible. I don't plan on doing hard trails anyway.

I might buy the Mopar Fox shocks though just to have a better quality part

20-30K miles and your suspension is worn out? Is it a rental Jeep that used exclusively off-road?

I thought the same thing… until at 20k, I replaced my shocks and found the OEM ones were toast. 98% road driving, too.

Hi Matt. Another great video filled with recommendations!!!! On thing no one talks about is whether the lift kit voids your warranty. That is an important concern for this of us who have time remaining on our warranties. THANKS

Great question! We are currently filming our lift kit install and we did a segment in that video answering your specific question. The answer is tricky so wanted to give you a proper answer on camera. Stay tuned for this Wednesday.

Forgot approach and break over angles. Larger tires will add more ground clearance between the axles and the ground.

The experience itself is also a great reason. Installing a lift kit is a great way to go from tinkering to actually working on your Jeep. Even with little experience, it only takes some hand tools, garage equipment, and time to install many of these lift kits on your own. Or with friends.

I just purchased a Clayton 3.5” overland plus kit for my 392 XR, I’ve only heard great things and can’t wait to get it mounted up. Lift was delivered last week. Just waiting for the 37” Nitto RG tires to come in, on back order 😭, before I install the lift. You should consider doing a video on the other things you should consider with lifting, i.e. steering, driveshafts for lifts over a certain height, etc.

I’m just curious why get the extreme recon package when you are going to lift it so soon. Heck I think I’d be happy if I just had the extreme recon package on my Rubicon 4xE

I'm surprised that you did not list "ground clearance" as the #1 or #2 reason. Sure, the axle is not higher unless you get bigger tires, but increasing the body ground clearance will help avoid damage and get you through more trails.

I hate how my 22 JLUR XR sits "nose low", the front fenders are a full 1.5" lower than the rear... drives me nuts but putting a full lift kit on seems crazy! I only want it level, its highly unlikely that I need more than the factory lift from a performance perspective.

Ive used Clayton before, great product, BUT.......After seeing the new prices, I looked elsewhere, came across RUSTY'S OFF-ROAD, been around a long time, made in America, super beefy arms etc, and very reasonable prices. Plus what you get in their kit compared to other companies, ....I went with Rusty's, will also be getting Rusty's tire carrier as well. Good video though 👍👍

Great videos. Anytime mention bigger tires then please also mention gearing and what the effect will be if gears are not swapped. I.e. poorer acceleration, increased wear on the transmission, etc. Many are clueless as to what happens when bigger tires are added and they think a lift is all they'll need.

Hey Matt! Great video as always. I didn’t know if you had noticed on the forums that Jeep is doing another run of Beach and High Tide editions starting in January. Could be the reason for them holding onto the XR parts. Still doesn’t explain the loss of red blue and silver though. Still fingers crossed on at least a Rubi 20A. Doesn’t need to be a 392 because I’ll have to sell one of my kids for that. 😂

Great video as usual. I have to disagree on changing the Xtreme recon for larger tires unless you’re going with 40s which are too big for the stock axles…..any ways I’m happy to see you getting sponsors and a lift on the Jeep. I think the XR package can fit and wheel up to 38s by adding larger bump stops to the rear. Any way. Great video and can’t wait to see the lift. Keep up the great work.

I have a question for a future video. I have a 2-door Sport S in sting grey I like my factory ride height until my new K02’s are worn out. Then I will go for a lift and 35’s. So my question is. I have an aluminum front bumper I am installing and I’m putting a Warn winch with it as well. Do I need to strengthen the front suspension in order to accommodate the winch and bumper till I decide to get a lift and 35’s? Thank you for all the videos!

I think (and preach to new jeepers) the better question is: "Are you lifting your jeep for form or function"? Form fit's 95% of those who never go off road, function applies to the rest of us who go off road but for those of us who actually go off road, we'll..... we already know the reasons. Lol.
