As a climbing instructor, I used to tell people to not wear finger rings or put their fingers in the bolt hangers on the climbing wall. If they didn't want to take their rings off, I showed them a photo of a climber who de-gloved their finger. After seeing it, they took their rings off. 😀

Wow that was a full week of good quality work, all them rewires to do which will keep you busy. Them ceilings are quite low will have to get some bump caps, asking for free tools cant go be bad after 20min wait. Cheers

7:30 Wow, not sure how anyone over about 5'6" would fit in there. Weird to see such low ceilings. In our house the lowest ceiling is just over 3 meters (10') and goes to up to about 4.25 meters (14') in a good portion. I guess that is the difference when all heating was done by stoves and fireplaces, keep things low. Great to see that architecture. Keep up the good work sir. 😎👍

I think its important to set goals when working for yourself. It sounds like your getting the balance about right. I worked all the hours god sends in the first 10 year of business, now i've been going 18 years and im 44 so have started slowing down a bit. 3 days installation a week and 2 days of customer relations, quotes and accounting, which also leaves some time for relaxing and indulging hobbies. It also means i'm not going out after work every night and at weekends now.

I got one of those cheapie testers and it is so nice the only thing that is annoying is it can't test dead circuits. I'm glad to see that they make such a version for the alternative markets without 120V.

Everyones got a sob story, They want the cheapest best install. If a client messes you with around with just quoting they are going to be a pain in the arse when it comes to install. If they keep you waiting make yourself feel better by adding a fair hourly rate of your wasted time in the quote for work when you actually get in there. Or just bump them down the road

Yep cant work for free mate, charity work is wonderful but wont pay the bills. Everybody falls on hard times at some point in life its on them to figure it out. Sometimes the sob story is not even legitimate, they are exaggerating or fabricating the story to get a discount. Best to find the customers that are willing to pay top dollar for good work.
