Bought a 2006 Springer Softail for 3 grand with just over 5000 on the clock. It even had SE2 mufflers and a SE Heavy Breather intake. It was sitting in a garage for 12 years. Had to clean the gas tank, reseal it and replace everything inside. Changed and flushed all the fluids. Replaced the tires and fuel injectors. Been my daily rider for the past 2 years.

What a Steal! That is one SWEET ride, I love a Springer Softail! I had a 2009 Crossbones I probably should have never sold, bought it new. I am done selling bikes, I just buy them and keep them! Thank you for the great comment! Ride Safe, Be Well!

I'm crying looking at those prices. The best you can find for under 5k here in the UK is a clapped out dyna that won't probably ever start. You guys in the States are so lucky with Harleys
@vintageharleysrevived3 күн бұрын
I knew the prices in the UK were high. There are certainly a lot of older Harleys here for sale, and a "clapped out" bike would be much less. I paid $3500 for my 1994 Softail Custom several years ago, It had a fuel leak, carburetion and some other issues I fixed. There are some deals to be found with patience. Thank you for the comment! Take Care in the UK!

Same here in Australia. 6 months ago I purchased a heavily customised 2004 Fatboy. AUD $16,000. Funny thing is I will get my money back
@vintageharleysrevived21 сағат бұрын
Wow! If I calculate correctly that is $10,642 US $ at today's exchange rate. So they are about double the price in Australia compared to Indiana USA!

Yes Mate. If I live in the USA I would have multiple Harley’s 👍🇦🇺@@vintageharleysrevived

Black, bone stock ‘95 RK with 17K miles. Replaced 20 year old tires, stator, battery & inner cam bearing. Runs and rides great.
@vintageharleysrevived3 күн бұрын
That is awesome! The question for me often is....why do they sit? I give them what they need like you did, and they run! It still amazes me! Bone stock, that is a RARE find! Thanks for the comment. Ride Safe, Be Well!

At the beginning of this last summer, I picked up another shovelhead. It's a 1982 flt, no fairing or tour pack, later model saddlebags, lowered, 19" heavy spoke front wheel ( tubeless) Custom dark green metal flake paint job, 16" apes, and fishtail dual open exhaust. Runs and rides great. All for $3,500.00
@vintageharleysrevived4 күн бұрын
Thats what I am talking about! $3500! I have a freind who just sold one, mostly stock for $8900! They ride great and you can pile the miles up on them! I bet it sounds great with those fish tails! Ride Safe, Be Well!

You are right about those great bikes at fantastic prices! My 92 Fatboy had 32k on the clock and was under five grand. She was in pretty good shape. All I've had to do is normal mait. on her. The previous owner took very good care of her. She's my everyday rider and will be with me till I can't ride two wheels any more. There are some beautiful deals to be had on those gorgeous Evo's! Loved the video! Oh, I loved that Heritage and the FB was a close second for me!
@vintageharleysrevived4 күн бұрын
Thank you! My next purchase will be a Heritage or Fatboy for certain! My 94 Softail is my daily as well and probably will be for a long time! I found a 1996 FB in terrible condition a couple days ago for $2100, I almost went and resued it, still thinking about it! Ride Safe, Take Care!

Great video once again! I got no 1! Just in white. Had to do lots of work but enjoyed every second, and in a little over a year doubled the mileage. Older bikes are unfortunately not for everyone, but if you enjoy tinkering, they loads of fun and surprisingly cheap. Always look forward to your videos. Please keep them coming...

People should check out your ride video and the carb and suspension videos you have created! You do have a beautiful Heritage! Probably better maintained than my own! LOL!! Thanks!! Take Care Lukers!

I flip bikes and all of those bikes are top dollar. Last bike I picked up was an 84 FXRS with less than 6000 miles for $1500. Previous one was a 96 softtail with 30,000 miles for $2000. Just keep looking, the deals usually are not listed.
@vintageharleysrevived4 күн бұрын
Where do you live? These are not high dollar bikes in Northern Indiana, that is a fact. These also are listed prices before negotiation. I applaud your ability to buy bikes at a fraction of the cost and then mark them up for profit. That is not my game, I ride, I wrench and I keep them. The point was not to find the cheapest Harley, it was to say that 5K can buy a rideable, decent big twin. Thanks for the comment!, take care!

@@vintageharleysrevived Tampa, ride all year. The only bike I've ever kept is my 49 Pan, it's owned me for over 40 years. I usually have 3 bikes, any more and it turns into work. $5000 isn't a bad deal but the price has been dropping fast in these parts. I'm into building swap meet bobbers but used parts worth a damn are getting scarce!
@vintageharleysrevived4 күн бұрын
I know you are right, I am heading to a swap meet in Lima tomorrow, I am hopeful but a lot of the stuff for sale seems to be late model take off parts. A 49 pan in Florida to ride all year, now that's a Hoosiers dream!

Where do I send the cheque for you to talk up my used bike ad?😊 Being in Australia, the cheapest Evos which have big miles are double your prices. Only twin cams are cheap because they shit themselves here just as much as they do there!
@vintageharleysrevived3 күн бұрын
Hello in Australia! Ha Ha, I do love old Harleys! What problems are you having with Twin Cams in Australia? I know we were changing the factory spring cam chain tensionesr to hydraulic tensioners on every one we had because the spring tensioners would fail over 25k miles almost every time. That made those motors super reliable! Thank you for this great comment! Ride Safe in Aussie Land!! I love hearing from my Australian viewers/friends!
@jeanjacques41852 күн бұрын
Australia doesnt have lemon laws or particularly strong consumer protection laws. Our chain twin cams only got fixed by dealers if they failed in the first year. Many are just sitting there waiting for 2nd or 3rd owners to fix them. Lots of very low mile bikes come up for sale by owners with no idea. They get bought by people with no idea because they are a "good deal" and regularly go bang. The market price is what tells you which bikes to stay away from. For relativity, I've got an Ironhead (see my vids) and they are selling for us$5k min to us$9k here. Cheapest decent evos are us$9k+. Twin cams cheaper by 20% over 96cu or Evos. Shovels are prob us$15k+ if you can actually find one. Very many bikes are bought second hand in USA and brought here and sold cheaper than locally sold bikes. But taxes and age laws and riding on opposite side of road mean we need to change stuff and cant import less than 25 years old bikes. The demand for stock exhausts has gone through the roof since my state virtually fails every modified exhaust bike to transfer ownership at purchase!
@vintageharleysrevivedКүн бұрын
Wow! Thank you for that awesome insight into the differences from the USA and Australia when it comes to Harley values! I live in Indiana USA, no emissions testing here! But cross the state line into Illinois and it is BAD. We modify our bikes fuel and exhaust at will here, as well as diesel trucks! I will check out your channel when I get home today. Thanks again for the connection! Be Well!
