Hi Gaurav I have recently planted few rose cutting with rooting hormone but they started turning brown from the top. Please suggest some solution. I want my these cuttings to grow. Also i tried turmeric method, even sprayed neem oil for my previous rose cuttings but they failed too to grow with the same problem. Hope to see your reply. Thank you!

If temperature change rapidly then cutting will not grow, temperature must be stable, try to keep them in shady environment for 15 days also you can cover them with poly bag

Pranaam 🙏 ... for rooting rose cuttings,, please start with a suitable media. 1. The media of choice should be Cocopeat or a mix of Cocopeat and river sand in equal measure. Always pre-water the media before planting the cutting. Don't mix soil or composte to the media. The media should be wet but not soggy. Fill up a 4 inch nursery pot with multiple drainage holes with the media. 2. Stem selection for cutting - please select a semi hardwood stem of the thickness of pencil or thereabouts. Best selection would be a stem which has just finished flowering. Soak the Cuttings overnight for 12 hours atleast in water. 3. Remove the flower and all the 3 leaflets set with a sanitized knife or secateurs. Now take about 18 to 20 centimetres length of stem with atleast 3 to 4 nodes . 4. Preparing the Cuttings - remove all 5 leaflets set by twisting gently sidewards and not downwards. Do not remove the top leaflet set. Trim the cutting 2 centimetres above the topmost leaf node at 45 degrees. Now take the last node and trim the branch 2 centimetres below the node at 45 degrees. Just above the cut lightly scratch/skin the bark once. Only skin the top part , do not damage the woody portion. 5. Planting- Dip the lower end which has been lightly scratched in Rooting Hormone so as it coats the cut and the scratch. Now hold the cutting about 2 to 4 centimetres above the last node and push it in the prepared media till your holding fingers touch the surface of the media. Press all around the cutting to secure it and to remove any air pockets. If the leaves of top leaflets is too big then trim out 1 leaf to reduce the evaporation loss. 6. Cover the pot with a large clear plastic jar with few holes in it or put 3 sticks slightly longer than the cutting in a triangular fashion as support and cover the whole thing with a clear polythene bag. Before covering spray the leaflet with fine mist of water. Place the pot in semi shade such as near a window where it receives light but no direct sunlight. Initially spray the leaves 2 to 3 times a day with fine mist to maintain high humidity for first 10 to 15 days and then gradually reduce. You may make a Styrofoam/thermocol box with a top lid having a clear plastic window to mimic a polyhouse. Hope it helps 🙏
