Tijae is so VERY blessed to have a mother like Toquanna. How can the media get away with THIS crap again and again!? It's so infuriating to me, but I know why. The entire police department should've been put on blast too! These cases are something else. VERY sad.

@@sharonp3785 ohh so you want to go there. Okay….. Most agencies do not spend a lot of time on cases involving missing adults, for the simple fact that there is no law to stop an adult from disappearing. The agencies had no concrete leads on an abduction taking place, and there were really no leads to show that is what happened. The young lady was 23, and disappeared. Most times it is left to the families and volunteers to find missing loved ones, if there isn’t much information leading to a crime. It is sad but true (I know and am speaking from experience). Now, we are ignoring the fact that TiJae was found at a bus stop, free, and alone. She was seen on numerous occasions sleeping at bus stations, and even taking the bus alone. She was also seen asking for food at local stores (In the area in which she was found). Since she was seen for sometime, by various members of the community, and not reported to be under the control of an abductor, what crime was at hand for the police to be involved in? What should the media report on? Again, going missing is not a crime, and she was found by her mom. Did something happen? Only she knows that, but per the public reports on her, and those who reported seeing her, she was always alone, and sleeping wherever she could. This case got about as much attention as vagrants on skid row get. Lots of them are missing, but most also don’t want to be found. People from all walks of life, of all races end up like this. If the media reported on each person, that’s all there would be to report. The sad truth for TiJae is, only her mom came up with the thought of abduction, and in investigations, that was not what seemed to be the case. Instead of making it “That issue”, why not be reasonable?

The assertion that women of colour are 40% more likely to be trafficked because they are not important enough to law enforcement if not blonde and blue eyed is shocking although not surprising altogether when taking the attitude of the police into consideration. Her mother deserves all the recognition for doing the job that law enforcement is supposed to be doing. I’m aware that not all situations are the same however she knew her daughter’s regular behaviour and it was not in her character to just stop getting in touch abruptly.

The story of Tijae Baker has made my blood boil. It's absolutely disgusting that a young woman who has been reported missing should be treated as a child who has been reported as missing. Adult or not, if someone's family is concerned enough to try and get the authorities involved because it is atypical behaviour, then it should be looked into immediately, REGARDLESS OF THE COLOUR OF THEIR SKIN. They know that they have a much greater chance of finding the missing person or/and more clues or information within the first 48 hours (and I know millions of other people will agree) so why is it "standard practice" to have to wait 48 hours BEFORE any action is taken to find said person. Come on you so-called investigators, try to earn your "protect and serve" motto and get off your backsides and try to help these people and their families. It makes me sick!!!

She clearly had a mental health issue and was living on the streets because she wanted to be there. This is not a race issue. This has nothing to do with police not caring about black people. This is being used for those purposes, but it has nothing to do with race or trafficking. She wouldn't be freely traveling all over town if she had been kidnapped and trafficked. Use some logic here. The evidence doesn't fit the insinuations.

TJ's story hits close to home. I grew up in PG county and cannot believe this story did not get any coverage. PG county has definitely gotten worse throughout the years and human trafficking is a much bigger issue. Unfortunately, this has to do with a corrupt and broken system. A few years ago, I was shopping in a store near the nail salon where TJ was seen. I was literally being followed around by a young man and I knew right away something was off. I never said anything but I made sure to let him know that I was being followed as I began to circle the same clothing area over and over. It is a damn shame that we can't even go about our normal business without having to continuously watch our backs.

Like ppl like you are probably the first ones to say "But they are your parents" "But they gave you a roof over your head, clothes on your back and food to eat." Like yeah dude, that's the BEAR MINIMUM! Why is it always on the CHILD to keep the relationship with the parents and not the PARENTS responsibility? *Especially* when it's the parents that are meant to teach that child what a healhy relationship looks like. Sorry but I 100% believe that if your own child ran away, there is something going on in the house that they felt they *needed* to esacpe from... You are right, many ppl have rough upbringings and don't run away, so, ask yourself, what was different with Natasha? Why did *she* run away?

The first case sounds incredibly fishy. I think the reason the police didn’t want to investigate is because it’s more probable that it was a voluntary disappearance. It doesn’t seem plausible that someone would go to a highly populated city and then immediately get kidnapped by a group of people that the they refuse to describe, and then they’d be allowed to walk around freely, but make no attempt to escape or find help other than making a single call. In fact, TJ herself has made no claims that she was kidnapped, it has all come from her mother, and the person that she had arranged to meet was legitimate and not involved. No kidnapping has been reported to the police, and no-one has come forward to corroborate any of the story, except the mother. It’s highly possible mental health could be a factor in this case. There’s definitely more to it than the mother’s story, because it doesn’t make sense.

I'm confused by the Fourth one, Brandon Cairney. Fine, he doesn't want contact with his family, seems messed up, but I don't know them. The reason people finally realized he was gone was because he missed his appointment with his probation officer, is he not in trouble for that. I forgot an appointment once with mine once and she was at my door first thing the next morning, threatening to put me in jail and mine wasn't a violent offence like it seems his was. I get that it's Canada, but wouldn't they bring him in to at least finish off his paperwork and not just let him go?

Because a guy who slapped another guy with a Bible who HAD charges pressed against HAD to go through the legal system. Bit, literally- what the hell are you gonna do? That parole wndded years ago and you're going to throw him back on jail? For that? Stop being so damn American.

Parents don’t want to believe their adult child would leave town on a drug binge, wandering around homeless. They want something to blame besides their own child’s addiction, including human trafficking, law enforcement and lack of awareness. And no child wants to disappoint their parents.

It's disgusting how the police hardly cared about TJ's case. And Natasha was a 14 year old child groomed and manipulated by a 22 year old man. I don't get how he wasn't charged for kidnapping and pedophile charges. A minor can't leave their family with a legal adult out of their own free will because they, under the law, cannot consent.
@nichole_brandt

yes they should’ve charged him with grooming and sexual assault with a minor, and pedophelia. but, she did want to leave. no, she couldn’t consent legally. but something tells me her dad was doing things to her. and her mom maybe didn’t speak up about it. she stays in contact with her mom but does not bring her father up. the whole thing is fishy and weird.

That whole "He/she is an adult and free to do as they please" is such bullshit. Yes, that may be true, but when it's out of character for someone to just go ghost, it should definitely get attention and be investigated

Brandon had brain damage and then his family let him live by himself. Several weeks went by. They didn't notice. He missed a parole meeting. The parole officer had to call his family. His family went to his apt to check. ----- my family also isn't close and my parents also wouldn't check on me unless the cops called asking about my location.

I just watched the Natasha Ryan story on Court in the Act on KZbin. I’m trying to work out why she ran off but still won’t say. At least she had guilt over someone being charged with her supposed murder that she rang the helpline and gave her name. The boyfriend was ordered to pass restitution for the police searches, which they did. They also got paid $200K from Womans Day magazine for the exclusive rights to their wedding photos. Not bad having your😅 wedding paid for. None of us still really know what happens behind closed doors, but it must’ve been bad for that sort of reaction, I’m guessing. It sad she’s still in contact with her mum but doesn’t mention her Dad.

@@rivermoon6190 absolutely not. But many crimes are committed out of hate. That includes bigotry. So even if it's not said by people, it doesn't mean it suddenly isn't a hate crime. Ignoring the issue is not helping anyone. People will complain on most videos how the police isn't helping fast enough ignoring the obvious suspect in favor of throwing some random guy in jail or not taking things seriously. But the second race is mentioned people complain that the problem is being mentioned and not brushed under the rug. How dare someone mention it?

Why are they so sure it's Brandon? Fingerprints are really sketchy and are barely proof at all. They're basically laughable and bear almost no probative value when it comes to legal proceedings, so I don't know why they'd put so much stock into them here. No offense.
