I was just about to mention the same thing. It's perfectly understandable that someone unfamiliar with the tradition might interpret "nee" as being part of her last name, although I am fairly certain that the maiden name is typically placed within a set of parentheses sucb as in Daisy Mae Heath (nee Tallman). Interestingly, I came across several news accounts of her murder just now while double checking the spelling of her name, and in most instances she was referred to as Daisy Mae Heath-Tallman, a variation of the traditional British pairing of a woman's maiden and married names. Heath-Tallman seems to mimic the traditional Latino custom of placing the maiden name at the end of the pairing, as opposed to the British/American pairing with the married name placed at the end. The strangest attempted murder I ever heard about went like this: a guy was having an affair with the wife of a friend. The friend started to get suspicious, so the guy decided to get rid of him. But he wanted to do it in a very unusual way, so the cops couldn't trace it to him. Long story short: one day the husband received, in the mail, a small box with the words "Live Animal" written on the side. Not knowing that a small animal, sent through the mail, is REQUIRED by the post office to say that on the box, he figured it was a joke from one of his drinking buddies. So he opened it. As a result of opening it, he spent two weeks in the hospital and almost died. What was in it? A frog. That's all. Just a weird-looking frog that was kind of cute. After he recovered, he found out the following, which I've quoted from one of the appropriate sites: "When threatened, the Desert Rain Frog emits a hypersonic cry that can cause ears to bleed and occasionally put a person into a coma." Everything worked out okay in the end, as things often do, and that's a good thing. And it actually IS a really cute frog.

The Desert Rain Frog DOES exist, and it does make a sound when threatened, but it's harmless. The frog is really, really cute. You can find videos about the little dude right here on KZbin. This is off-topic, but on the subject of weird animals, look up a bird called the Great Potoo. Don't do it right before bed, unless you want to have nightmares.

Elks are really aggressive, especially if they eat fallen apples from the ground as they’ll get drunk on them, and will absolutely attack a human simply by the sight of them. It’s not really associated with real or imagined threats. I live in Sweden and in a very elk-populated area, and this is what we learn in school around here.

Her name it is not Shanya, it is Shayna Hubert. 🙄🙄 That said, she made a mistake killing her boyfriend. If he didn’t want anything to do with her since he had been pursuing a relationship with a Miss America or a a model or something to that effect, Shayna should have accepted it like a grown woman she was and let him go. NO ONE is attached to the other person, NO ONE, everyone is FREE to walk away. But pretending that he or she “belongs” to you, it is a deadly fantasy created in people’s minds. A very sad and tragic case where one person is deceased and the other incarcerated. Shayna ruined her life and career, and ended the life and career of another. Shayna forgot that “there are a lot of fish in the water!” She could have found another man because of her looks and educational background .
