I think it really has alot to do with belief and faith, for instance, so much of the population here in the states doesn't believe in this sort of thing, if that's what fuels it, or gives spirits energy, it would be difficult for them to harness it in our country, but so many in middle eastern countries are devout, and believe in things like Djinn and the such, they would have far more energy or whatever to draw from.
