Great tips Matt. I play with a couple of guys who chip out of trouble just to get out and no thought of where the flag is for their next shot. Probably something I also do in a rush to get back on the fairway.

4th tip is the biggest one. Learning to drop the ego and trying to play the hero shots is paramount. My home course is tree central and i play out from under them every round. Which means ive pretty much perfected the art of the low stinger back into play lol. Great vid Matt!

Hey Matt, great videos. I was curious what your phone stand/holder is that you are using there around the 3:30 mark. I have something similar but it gets tipsy real easy. Almost need one with a spike in the ground or something. Is there anything you suggest for a phone holder to record swings? Thanks

I think sometimes you also have that early great escape from the trees and then try it on every other situation from then on to no avail... Thanks Matt... Trying to break 80 and get down to single figure handicap... These tips help alot cuz I sometimes think it might be technical errors but these can easily save 4 shots to get that long awaited number...

Great tips. Swallowing my ego is the hardest part. I always know I can do better and always put pressure on myself to make the hero shot and it costs me a lot of strokes.

I've been to a top tracer range and found that my distances are around 20 yards shorter on each club. On the course it's been hit and miss using new distances. How do you suggest getting exact distances on the course without feeling I'm holding the who place up?

Yeah the simulators aren’t that accurate, it’s best to go to just a range and also average out all ur shots not just ur best

Coarse management we all need to use it but we don't we all go for the TV shot.

What's a stroke index

The 18 holes on a course are ranked in 'difficultly' from 1 (hardest) to 18 (easiest). In certain types of games such as stableford, a 5 handicap player would get an extra shot on the 5 easiest holes (index 1-5). A 19 handicap would get 2 extra shots on SI 1 and 1 extra on holes 2-18.
