I've been djing on and off professionally for 18 years. Always wanted to LEARN to scratch so I decided to look up videos on KZbin and yours popped up. I've been following them and subscribed and spending time on the techniques you show. I have always played about scratching but never got the mechanics down. I have improved more in one week than I have playing about over 18 years. GREAT VIDEOS! Thank you! T shirt looks ace to!

I see you @3:06 talk about disabling the key lock or master tempo so you can change the tempo without effecting the speed of the track, if I’m correct. 😣 but 😩 what if you didn’t disable it, how does one know what the original BPM would be for the track?
@djcarlo2 жыл бұрын
There's a +/- indicator right below the BPM in the middle. Just get it back to +/- 0 to get the original tempo.
@LazyCloud94 жыл бұрын
One thing I picked up that might be a coincidence but, I noticed that you may be using the jog wheel logo pointy edge design as an indicator of your sample start? Would this be considered effective on controllers or possible old vinyl habits?
@djcarlo4 жыл бұрын
I am not aware of that! Nice catch on this coincidence!

Should you use scratch-specific samples? How do you know where in a song to scratch? Because the scratching sound varies a lot based on where in the track you’re scratching. I never really know where to scratch to align it with where I want to drop in the next track.

Should the scratch track BPM be at a higher or lower value than the Master track? Or be in Synch... It looks like you are at 133.44bpm on your scratch track and 110bpm on the Master track, but the wave form appears to be moving slower on the scratch track?? I use Traktor so I'm not familiar with Serato set ups

I should not have to pay $3 to get three songs. In addition to that, I have to pay a £1.25 currency fee so that's £3.51 (at the time of posting this), if you really want money you should include different currency selections so that people don't have to pay £1.25 extra, thank you.

Push stop pull, before adding the fader the record hand needs to be dead on "In the Pocket". I normally go at it way too fast. I'm really focusing on the basics that I didn't master first and re learning these techniques. So, it's worse than a beginner cause I've got to break bad habits, slow down and concentrate on control and repeatability. Starting and ending with an open fader is Sooo tough for me but I'm on it! Few questions.1.I can't seem to get a answer on this and I see nothing talked about on it.That is, where are ligit parts sold for these controls? Like say cross fade which will become toast at some point? I don't want to buy something if can't find a part for it.2.What size knobs are most likely on these.Interested in replacement to color knobs of which where would I get them? 3.Lastly, never dealt with Pioneer.I assume they are one of these companies that won't let you order a control direct.Instead through a dealer so they get kick back ? I attempted to try my sound and stage place.They won't order.Say not a authorized dealer.I don't do Amazon nor Prime ship.Any other ligit places that sell the SB3 WITH warrenty.Another words not a knock off from Ebay seller.Looking for authorized dealers if I can't Pioneer order direct.

Thanks, I'll check that one.

After learning about the various transitions you've shown and getting them to a "competent" level - I'm sticking scratching into my next to learn tool box.... I want to master learning phrasing and knowing when I can transition between tracks without clashing beats or clashing vocals. However, after I get transitions mastered - scratching is def on the next. I play with it at home but if I'm actually doing a set - those platers don't get touched.
