Stuart, this is THE eye opener! Late, for me and my game, but better late than never. Rather than being a instruction video junky stick to your guns. It may not get you to your 100% level but to your 70% improvement "only", but it will ultimately get you ahead while all this video consumption will likely only confuse. This is at least what it does to me. Thank you!! Ralph

I’ve already cut out all of the other YT coaching channels except for yours. I’ll make an appointment for a Trackman analysis of my driver, since this is my nemesis, and go from there. Thanks for the great advice, much appreciated. Cheers.

stu listened to Danny Maude / Alex Elliot/ Russell heritage/chris Hudson/marcus Edblad/even Pete Cowan. In a nutshell you’re the man . New grip playing a draw. Still working on the driver . PB 2 weeks ago 13 over . Getting extra 10 yards on irons . This is in the space of 5 weeks . Watch all your videos daily . Still sinking in . A lot to digest but it’s always fresh and your enthusiasm rubs off mate

That bit about getting on some device to determine your swing characteristics is next level. I was trying to work towards getting my own launch monitor (read as low level budget oriented device bc I'm not exactly self-made millionaire so 7-800$) but I don't have an indoor space with high enough ceilings, no net, no mat. So I'm no where close to being able to do that but I can afford an hour at one of the indoor sim joints. I do only follow your channel so I'll be back on once I determine the current status. There's also a huge power leak somewhere in my swing so I need to nail that down as well. Cheers Stu.

@willchristensen4248 Жыл бұрын
@@GoodGolfCoaching Unfortunately their device wasn't the greatest as it "measures back spin" rather than attack angle but I'm fairly certain my biggest issue is shaft pitch being to steep on the downswing. I get away with it in the mid-short irons, even 3wood is very solid but with the driver the timing is extremely vital or I can miss both ways. Broom acquired. Cheers Stu

@@GoodGolfCoaching Question - what does it mean to keep the club in front of you? I can make a backswing where I feel like the arms are right in front of my chest or one where the club is more over my right shoulder.
@GoodGolfCoaching Жыл бұрын
@@willchristensen4248 More out in front means the club head does not drop under the handle aggressively, makes the left hip stop the rotation of a golfer through strike, leaves the face wide open; Its why tucking the right arm in is so disastrous for all golfers. To add to my earlier comment. I went out to practice after watching this video and had so many light bulb moments. Faults, hitting at the ball and not turning properly in the backswing. Not easy to fix. Hitting at the ball was causing deeper than normal divots and loss of clubhead speed. Reaction, focus on changing that. Simple. Had some good results and I eventually started freeing up my swing. Thanks again 👍

Great work again thank you... might be too early to ask agin but i still would like info on how to link these conecpts of pressure in feet, initial pull etc to making proper strike on the ball. Are you just applying the pressure in the feet with pressure on the handle and the strike just happens? I have heard before that yes u can apply the technique but also need a thought or an idea at the ball to strike it with the new motion you are applying... how does the Stu method apply to striking the ball properly? Thank you.

Hi Stuart, another useful video, I played a round with my scratch golfer friend. I play off 18 so I always want to play well in his company, but fail.This time he told I am lined up closed to the path.He also told me most golfers line up where the tee is pointing.Anyway I had the best round in years, allowing me to get through the ball added more length and accuracy. Looking forward to my practice tomorrow to work on that change.
@GoodGolfCoaching Жыл бұрын
Amazing feedback Roger - let’s get your game in gear even more and beat your friend!! Golfers mostly aim in the opposite direction their golf ball bends. Change the aim and you’ll change the very thing that’s helping you. Hope that makes sense. Happy practice tomorrow!

I have struggle with losing shots out to right since starting golf and after watching your club path videos about allowing your hands to exit lower left rather than “swing more from the inside”, I can’t remember the last time I lost shots out to the right. I hit mostly draws now and the occasional hook. You videos really changed my perception of how you’re supposed to swing a club.

Such wonderful feedback, to hear you’re not hitting shots out to the right, feeling some pressure on the ball and feeling powerful is joyous. Thank you so much for sharing! Best wishes Stu 😊

Great advice. I intellectually dabble and inform myself, but when it comes to what I ACTUALLY DO, I stick to one source for a time just as you suggest so there is a level of continuity in what I’m doing. It’s worked well but definitely hit a plateaux at 5hcp. I’m sticking to a plan for each part of the game. I took your advice for low ball flight and too little spin. Have neutralised my grip SLIGHTLY and am committing to speed training and general fitness for the next 6 months to hopefully gain height and spin with more speed and minimal swing changes. So far the results are great. Foregone a small amount of distance temporarily but improvements across the whole bag, so thank you!! Also love how simply you described strategy there!! Love the personal part for a change in perspective!👍🏻

My top tip comes from a slogan I saw in the gym - if you are not measuring, you are guessing. So in golf when we are trying to change something in the swing, it is important to measure whether what you are trying to change is in fact changing. That might need a regular trip to somewhere that has a trackman or similar to get the data or it might be as simple as videoing your swing to see if you are doing what you are trying to change. Only problem is I fail to use my own top tip!

I have stuck with certain instructors for 90 days and even longer for the past 15 years. Problem is, I could never get in 24 rounds in 1 year, let alone 24 rounds in 90 days. I wish I had the time, money, and people to golf with on a regular basis. I will not pay for lessons ever again, a total waste of money. I do practice several times per week (free). And that is where I tinker with different swing methodologies to see what works and what does not. No method is better than another, nor has any method improved my game. Of all the things I have seriously pursued in life, golf is a failure. But still, I keep trying to break 90.
