What strikes you the most about the broom series videos?

Another brilliant demonstration. I’ve begun to practice this concept and it’s so different to all other golf instruction. I could never get good consistent contact trying anything else, shallowing the club and all that rubbish. Im slowly able to feel the club moving the way you describe and hitting incredible shots. Much appreciated!

Love the broom visual, it really show us how the club handle and club head move in opposing positions. It took me a long time to understand what you meant when you were saying in other videos how the handle moves out and down. It finally clicked when I watch carefully, in extreme slow motion, down the line, views of a few Tour Pros, both male and female. I could actually see the out and down moving of the handle. Cheers.

Stu. Another great broom video. I love the visual of the handle moving in as the head moves out and then around when the head "swings". The feel is very different from my norm but I have been able to get it when on the range. The body motion also needs to support what the hands and arms are doing and timing needs to be developed. Taking it to the course is the challenge. Very hard to be thinking much at all about the motion you are attempting to make when you are under the pressure of every shot counting. I will stay at it until this new feel is perceived as "normal" by my brain.
@GoodGolfCoaching Жыл бұрын
Amen to that - hang in there. Every swing needs tempo and timing. Understanding the ingredients of what delivers those two skills is essential. Best wishes Stu 😊

Love the broom series. Good stuff. As far as the first half and angle of attack, can you talk about how this will look/feel as far as divots? It's great to have the Trackman numbers, but doing some videos outside would be good from time to to time as well (I know December is not ideal, but maybe plan a spring series). I normally take little to no divot (early extender here, so love all your comments on how to help that), so working on all of that.

Thank you for the trail hand switch view. Now I feel how the right shoulder comes down and around, I was pulling my shots sooo much I new I was doing something wrong I stopped, but with the trail hand/arm switched to on top gives me the feel and club head going out and not so steep to left and pulling shots.

You and Bradley Hughes are the only two instructors I would ever take seriously. Brad’s analogy is packing the arms back into you. Hands & arms work out in the downswing then work back in. Pivot through strike takes care of itself.

This motion is one that no amateur golfer would ever arrive at through trial and error. It's so counter-intuitive to me. Makes sense when you demonstrate it but so much harder to understand and imagine than my simple mental picture of a club swinging around an arc. Need to spend more time with this to see if I can make it feel natural.

What’s also crazy about this drill is that by feeling the left pull the handle down and towards the body…the alignment of the club shaft with left leg is tour level automatic through impact. Everyone is searching for that alignment or “lag” through the impact area. Could this literally be the “IT” factor that is missing for most? The down and around feeling with the left arm? I think that it is at least a huge piece of the puzzle. This is excellent instruction.
@GoodGolfCoaching7 ай бұрын
I’m glad you enjoyed the video my friend! Spread the word with your friends would do me a huge favour! Thank you ☺️
@IdaGolfo7 ай бұрын
I will for sure man. I wish I could show you how pure I was hitting the ball using this. I really think the left hand path was what was missing in my swing. It really felt automatic once I felt the club come (what I felt) out to in. My left hand and arm must have been traveling out right. I’d be so inconsistent. Today was a crazy day of golf for me. Thanks from the States! You’re the man!

Stuart, I find your instruction and explanation of things extremely excellent. I do however struggle (and perhaps due to my daftness) how to translate your instruction about the movement of the handle in the actual swing... when you are static and moving your hand up and down to illustrate the movement of the handle, it makes sense in that moment, but how can I see or feel that in the actual swing when you are rotating your shoulders back and through? This is my biggest struggle in trying to take your instruction to the range.. Thank you in advance

I think this helps you keep from getting under the plane and flipping. I do this with another thought of trying to hit my lead thigh with my hands on the through swing. Of course they don’t. Does that seem to be the same or similar. I’m an under plane flipper.
@GoodGolfCoaching Жыл бұрын
Hi Aris, gosh the reason why you are “under plane” has a range of reasons of which I won’t begin to guess. Try this, it might help. Best wishes Stu 😊

Stu, can I ask, Why is it that often times we will be golfing and something will click in a feel or thought, then the very next time we go out ( I go out) it seems that same feel or thought produces nothing similar to what it did the first time. Thanks for your work in helping us with "Good Coaching!" sir
@GoodGolfCoaching Жыл бұрын
Hey Jason; so many situations a golf course throws at you creates a reaction. Then, you react by applying a change, before you know it, 8 holes in, some wind out the right, some iffy lies all added up to a fault that worked with a tip you heard. The cycle of hope (trying one swing tip to the next) is always a dangerous way to play the game. Stick with one whether good or bad out come and see what it does over 18/36/54 holes rather than two or three and then change again. Easier said than done! Best wishes Stu 😊
@pastorjason4337 Жыл бұрын
This is some gold right here, 18/36/54 holes, seems a long time compared to how flighty I have become. My commitments to a year long swing style has fallen flat. I can get behind 54 holes. LOL, thank you for what you do sir!@@GoodGolfCoaching

When I move the hands out towards the target line, or pull them, which really seems to work, I have noticed that I have to be careful not to start rotating the left shoulder as the arms and hands move initially. Comment?
