Great advice! I shall be giving the shadowing a go. I could never ge the french "R" until I was advised to start with "TR" and "PR", especially as the one word where you always hear it is "très".

Bravo Manon. Vous vous exprimez bien en anglais! Je ne veux pas sembler négatif, parce que vous parler bien, mais je vous offre une astuce pour la prononciation du mot “native” en anglais. Le “a “ se prononce comme on prononce la lettre “A “. C’est pas comme le “à” en français. C’est plutôt un peu semblable au lettre “e”, avec l’accent aiguë en français. Le “a” dans le mot anglais est ce qu’on appelle en anglais “a long A”, plutôt qu’un “short a “. Alors, c’est “nAtive”, pas “native”. Le “a” se prononce comme on prononce la première lettre de l’alphabet en anglais. Voilà. Je ne veux pas sembler négatif. Je veux seulement vous aider un petit peu, comme vous nous aidez en français. Keep up the good work. Your English is impressive, and you are a great teacher and ambassador for all things French.

Ça ne peut pas être négatif avec tant de bienveillance 😊 J’ai remarqué ça chez moi et mes étudiants, mais c’est très difficile de prononcer un mot étranger dont l’écriture est presque la même dans notre langue maternelle comme « natif » / « native » ou « environnement » / « environment ». Merci en tout cas pour ces conseils !
