I've had a 500 since 1977 and it has never failed me. It depends on what you intend to use the shotgun for.Are you just hunting upland game birds,or is it ducks and geese,or a self defence weapon ,or a bear gun. It depends on the application. Mossberg has several pump action models that are budget friendly. You aren't allowed to use assault weapons at all including semi auto pistols, anywhere but the range. They will seize them from you in Canada

There was a 16ga. Bolt action that lost a part of the bolt assembly the screw broke off possibly over tightened. That was a customer gun we sent it to Mossberg to have it repaired , but Mossberg said it could be fixed but it would likely do it again as the test fired the gun and it spit out the new screw head and the latch pawspring. The main problem with the Fabarm-STF is very overpriced. $1500 is too much to spend on a pump action shotgun. They should've priced it under $900.

Agreed with the assessments. My perspective = stay away from shotguns with designations (Tactical, Assault, Accessorized and Mil-Spec) Designs should be modular and simple. Never select a shotgun simply off the brand name and always select function over appearance. I start with Price then function.
