I actually did try talking about feelings and where the relationship was going after 4 months of not speaking my mind about a few issues. I never even got to bring them up because he got very upset/defensive and walked out on me when it came to talking about emotions. I was blown away. 2 months later nothing improved so I moved out. He now wants a long distance relationship. Haven't seen him in 4weeks but stayed in contact. He's coming up to visit next week and I'm not even sure how I feel anymore. Very happy I moved out and started living my own life again though...major communication problems here.

Yes building trust... and it takes time... And I screwed it last weekend with a high quality man... we let our instinct, attraction lead us we were intimate. We had emotional connection yet not strong enough... now he feels weird about it... won’t see each other anymore. Aaaahhrrg, why couldn’t I stay my ground and say NO! I just felt dizzy in my head and get along. I don’t regret the sex, I regret the consequences. Very sad cause he is a HV man, working on his self development, self-love..., Ok back in the saddle, licking my wounds I am gonna bingewatch all your video’s cause you have so good insights.

Great content again, Jonathon! Thank you for sharing. 👍🏻😁 My boyfriend of two months took the love language quiz virtually while we were in a video call (we are in a LDR). I actually took the quiz for him - I read the questions to him and he chooses the answer. It was fun. 😁 Since I have already taken the quiz ahead of time, I shared with him the result after he took the quiz. Now we know what our primary love language is. Since then, I feel more loved by him as he work his best to provide me my primary love language, and vice versa. He is also open to any relationship tips I shared with him recently. He even agreed to read the book Eight Dates as soon as it gets to him (shipped it to him few days ago). We are both showing vulnerability recently and always enjoyed our conversations - laughters are always present in our conversations. We plan to see each other in person as soon as it is safe to travel. 😁😊

I like more the expression: "words of adoration". Affirmation feels a little like wanting constant validation of the relationship. Adoration is better, when you adore somebody, you do give those affirmations effortlessly. (And who would not want to be adored anyway? I feel that we should be. We all are pretty adorable in our own ways 😊)

omg, the money thing is so tricky. I was with a man who constantly sponged and would never pay back. The more upset I got the more he accused me of being mean. I dont think its fair to make men pay for loads of initial first meet ups with women (e.g. if they doing online dating and just meeting to see if they want to do an actual proper date) but BE AWARE of how he wants to deal with money with you from the get-go. I admit I would only be happy to go on, and pay for, a proper second date if he had paid for the first and I could trust him to be fair.

I stumbled across the 5 Love Languages by accident and introduced the idea to my new partner. It sparked some really interesting conversations. We understand now what both of us need in a relationship from each other but also what we both like and feel comfortable to do for one another. Now I can identify something he does for me to show me how he feels about me and vice versa. And like Jonathon says, if he likes you enough, wants to get to know you better and wants to be in a relationship with you then he won’t mind you bringing these sorts of conversations to the table, if anything he’d love you to!

EXCELLENT video, Jonathon!!! What exactly do you mean when you say it's harder for couples to break up if family & friends have been introduced/involved?? Ummm, that covers about 95% of the dating population and, especially now days, family (including one's kids) & friends are often introduced very early on in dating ... and often it's simply because they meet them in passing ... or at a mutually-attended gathering/event etc. -- and not because it signifies the 2 are necessarily serious, or that it's a "formal, roll-out-the-red carpet/meet the parents" deal. I'm quite certain that as far as all these breakups -- and, WOW, let's consider the large influx of breakups during this pandemic -- that those folks knew & had hung out with their partner's family/friends socially. I don't see how doing so makes people stay together longer, or changes the outcome. If a person isn't happy or the relationship/FWB situationship is not working ... or they're just biding their time but actually better off just being friends etc., the fact family & friends are in the picture ain't gonna change the outcome. When 2 people reach the end of their journey, that's it. It's syanara, baby!!! Please enlighten us. Love your channel so much, by the way!!! 💙💙

When couples get rooted with their family and friends, it's a strong bond to help the relationship. It's not only thing needed, and yet it helps for those who are not fully emotionally mature. Immature people though can break up on a dime...

@JonathonAslay4 жыл бұрын
Let me clarify... i believe people are better served choosing partnership type relationship...
@SatumainenOlento4 жыл бұрын
That can be still very committed partnership what you are looking for even if you aren't living together. You can be living very close by. Even you can move to live as a next-door neighbours. I feel it is mutual commitment and building of intimacy what matters and part-taking to each others lives as much as it is comfortable for both. Essentially what matters is that it is built TOGETHER and that is the definition of a relationship, no matter what it looks like for others. And I also agree that people fare better in deeply committed relationships which grow better and dig deeper. Because the love grows there and not in commitment avoidant-environment.

What about the opposite? Some men fall in love on the first date. Last evenings date was him expressing his fear of remaining single. (I hope I never did that, but could’ve) Then, he tells me he loves me! I’m dating for the practice while learning a lot about men and myself, BTW, your recommendation. Thanks for all you do!! This post could belong to one of your other video. Oops

A person can fall in lust on a first meeting or be very infatuated but I highly doubt that they can fall in love and if it does happen it's extremely rare.
