Thanks so much for this analysis. As an Esfj that is productive and values my relationships…I will be listening to this over and over to fully grasp all you are saying. I feel seen and encouraged and valued. We are usually portrayed as shallow and needing affirmation. Thank you ❤

Fe dominants can be pretty damn calculating - right on! Not that we're out to actively deceive the vast majority of people of course. I think in part as an ENFJ this part serves to protect a very vulnerable FiSi core.

Thanks for this video. I like the way you have differentiated between cognitive functions and social interaction. There generally does not seem to be adequate accounting for the idea that someone might be socially shy ☺️ but not necessarily cognitively extroverted. Your model seems to allow for this.

Hello, this was a very useful video. There isn't a lot of stereotype-free xxsj content on KZbin because we have little to no presence there. I actually feel very intuitive for a sensor, I watched your intj vs istj video and it helped me a lot but I still have doubts about my level of intuitiveness. I'm very curious and enjoy new things, almost in an intp way I guess. I was wondering if you could do a type comparison of the two, please.

Good question! eNF takes more social risks as the emphasis is upon novelty rather than harmony for its own sake. Less self-protection and intentionality.

Peace, Harry; I deleted my original comment (because I'm hoping you'll respond to my inquiry-at the bottom of this comment). Most of this resonates with me. Except for the: "If they say they will do it, *they will,"* part. I mean, I will *(if I remember)...* ...Eventually 😏; I have the cognitive process of a natural pot head. The way I'm constantly forgetting *absolutely vital* short term memory related info/details/tasks, drives me INSANE (esp. given the Fact that my memories-happy &/or sad-are so precious to me). It's ruined my life. And, it hurts, because, it's unintentional. But... *"perception is king..."* That right there... In THIS context: In my experience, people who live by that credos are the same types who conflate Reliability, ("ispo facto") with Trustworthiness (& vice/versa)... And exploit accordingly 🤢🤮. My gut tells me you may have posted this in response to my comment on your: "Signs youre not an ISFP" video. True/Real? 🤔 TIA! 🙏🏼💜 PS One more vital point. Stubbornly Hypocritcal Disrespect & Gaslighting... Bullies... And my own "stupidity.." My #1 triggers. iHulk 😡🤬🥵🥶😖😞🤕😶‍🌫️

Hey Harry, when you describe Fe in oppositional as sort of clunky in it's employment, can that also be the case for the Fe blind types or is there a difference in it's appearance when typing someone?
@CognitivePersonality

Great question. Any skill set that isn't honed will be clunky. The Fe blind type will not hone such skill sets due to lack of regard rather than fear alone

Surprisingly common type in this community, of course the more introverted subvariants, but still not something you'd expect from the stereotype of normie NPC. Some of them even think of their Ne as dominant, as in being an ENTP, wink wink. In reality I've met a few intellectual, academic types of that type, with conscious Ti and Ni.

...and sometimes someone DOES love giving out hugs and seems to like everyone :) It would be weird if an ESFJ could be the only person on Earth. It raises the question of whether they would still be an ESFJ with nothing to activate their Fe. Not an ESFJ confirmed, but I watched anyway since love your videos as usual!

In a nutshell. One is a codec dominant (judging dominant types) and the other is a lens dominant (perceiving dominant types). What differentiates the two, one is more on the impact on the social collective, the other is on the experiential nature upon the social collective. One revolves more humanism, the other revolves experience. Codec dominants are more superego centric, Lens dominants are more ego centric. One of the biggest misconceptions, Lens dominants are more P types (yes this includes IJs), while Codec dominants are more J types (this also includes IPs). For the ESFJ the Fe is expansive and can access to Fi and all the other judging functions, but Ni is the most unconscious where existential topics and fatalism isnt necessarily a strongsuit, it thinks more of what shall be done in the near future than envision far-future outcomes. ENTP has an expansive Ne where it can also access to Ni and all the other perceiving functions, Fi is unconscious where self-concept and self-reflection they may struggle on that part in a more limbic sense, pretty much may forms its identity based on what it can mechanistically do, on what they can bring to the social table, sometimes kind of living in their own highly opinionated Ti.

SiTi divergence: INFP here but i also find myself in "cautious logical style that is slower to commit to new information" i wonder if that some kind of SiTi dip for Infp. Or if it has to do with divergent thinking. I tend to be very rigorous as to what i believe to be true and what i call a "fact" far more than many people i know do I'd like to know more about the differences between Esfj and Entp. As of right now i think i can tell this type apart quite well and i find it underrated ^^ Edit: about Esfj having Istj side, that's interesting. I thought it's leaning more towards Estp. I wonder when it comes to i.e Infp and Enfj, how does their Intj Ni-Fi side looks like? How does this subnetwork relate to their values, sense of self etc. Is it not as stubborn in asserting their values

Hello, Harry! Didn't finished the video yet, since it was uploaded right now, but it has been amazing as always. I hope your research is doing fine. I wanted to ask: what's your take on "type groupings", like David Keirsey temperaments, interaction styles, quadras and so on. Do you think they apply to CPT? Is there a group exclusive to CPT?
@CognitivePersonality
@CognitivePersonality 11 ай бұрын
Most groupings will apply to CPT in some way or another. I personally don't focus so much on them as CPT is more idiographic and the higher up you go with groupings the more individual exceptions you'll find. There are lots of ways to group types together and all of them will describe traits and general tendencies more than cognitive exactitudes.

Just wondering, do you agree that, since the dominant is expansive and the agency is exacting, this also translate to codec dom types as well? I.e Infp's Si is more exacting than that of an Istj, and vice-versa for Istj's Fi? This might also play into a lot of mistyping based on functions, between these two types. Edit: just realised that we're talking about a codec dom here 🤦🏻‍♀️ but either way, I haven't seen people pointing out the more exacting nature of the agency function until you recently. Hope to hear more about it

Harry sorry to gatecrashing the ESFJ section again! What types do you think feel quite nervy/vulnerable around FeSe+ & what types do you think appreciate it/crave it? Whilst I know more convergent ENFJs will come off as more intense than myself it was something I've been speculating on nonetheless. I think ESFJs & ENFJs share that underlying vulnerability re unto themselves nonetheless absent extensive work however I know one very convergent ENFJ who is a king in this domain (and it's not a facade either lol)

I'm open minded but he seems more 'in crowd/out crowd' that what I'd expect of an Fe dominant, especially the narrow target audience. Attached logic>detached logic there also.. Fe dominants tend to be more detached and their words less imbued with raw emotionality
@AnyaAnnika67
@AnyaAnnika67 11 ай бұрын
@@CognitivePersonality thank you Harry I couldn't have put it better myself! It was the attached logic of JP that ruled out ENFJ for me. I also concur with ISFP and he seems do have an ample TiSi dip. I do love the raw emotionality of ISFPs so I'm not knocking the type at all. It's one reason why I'd like to see a comparison video as I've seen a lot of people having contentious debates as to whether he's an Fe dom or ISFP.

ESFJ: One in the three most common types in the world (ESFJ, ISFJ, ISTJ). "Influencers", "critics", "thought leaders" (not the best word, i couldn't find better to describe it in english language) in the media. One of the most interested types in MBTI, Enneagram. Likely they are mistyped as XSTP, XNFJ (for some reason they think these 4 types are cool), ENTP, ENFP.

I think FiSi is more adaptable, but this adaptation and "change" can be more surface level than people realise. I can stand firm on my identity, beliefs etc when i want to. But if i notice that you're a reactive type of person, i can choose to be disingenuous in your face without you realising it. It depends a lot on wether my boundaries are crossed or not, and/or wether the issue is something i'm passionate about or not
@Multitudes_
@Multitudes_ 11 ай бұрын
Eh yeah, there can be a bit of both. INFPs will also definitely have boundaries and values they'll stand up for and live by. But overall, I'd rather have things err on the side of describing INFPs as adaptable vs. rigid; I think some MBTI content seriously exaggerates the rigidity of INFPs' Fi (and fails to realize this can be more true for other types in many ways), which I think is a bigger mistake. That said, I don't love the idea of full-on defining Fi-Si as accommodation either.
@phoenixxsoul
@phoenixxsoul 11 ай бұрын
@@Multitudes_ Yup, i see your point; Infps Fi is definitely more adaptable and fluid rather than rigid/static. That notion can make a lot of Fi- people think that they're Infp. But I don't think that it's adaptable in a sense that Infp is a pushover or that they would find it difficult to stand up for their core values if they need to, or that they'd change their opinions for example, just because majority thinks a certain way. Not that Harry said that, but it can be misunderstood i guess :))

ikr because it's even more common to hear about INTPs that have no conclusive moral boundaries and can easily be swayed to extremism and rationalizing emotional abuse; in fact the conception of personal boundaries alone makes me physically struggle because it's so alien (and I don't think I've ever gotten along with Fi doms), but tbh almost all introverts by default are prone to changes of temperature to external stimuli
