I just recently took the Myers-Briggs personality test last week and found that I fall into the category of XSTJ. So, I've been listening to some content about both ISTJ & ESTJ, and only a small percentage of the types-material felt similar to the way my mind operates. Your explanation felt more relatable 🎉 Thanks for the video! ❤

i thought i was a a weird entj until recently. idk why ISTJ never even occurred to me or anyone in my family (mom is INTJ, dad is ENFP, sister is INFJ the s came out of thin air i guess)... but i took the test finally on a business oriented site and it said ISTJ. honestly, the more i learn about ISTJ the more sense it makes. I have also been called a masochist and told I 'need to take it easy and stop making things so hard for myself' because i also like difficult things and crave challenges. i'm fascinated by a lot of topics: herbology, natural science, philosophy, mythology, creative writing, psychology, literature, language, crystals, astrology, history, weapons. people ask me what my hobbies are and i panic because 'which hobby makes the right impression with this person? crap i like too many things' its awkward.

Not gonna lie if ur making a video for esfp's at least try and make it condensed into simple tangible language, like 8:47 what in the world are you on about?

This is a really good video. I especially relate to having high empathy but feeling disconnected to social reality, as well as being that person who has multiple degrees while thinking I am not good enough in my chosen field. The perfectionism is an incredible drive factor but it does get lonely

I've watched a few of your videos and it seems as if the extroverted functions (Like SeFe in Istps) only work together with each other? Isn't it possible for Se to work together with Ti ?

Finally an MBTI channel that is rooted in science-based psychology, doesn't deal in absolutes, and doesn't use new-age, ambiguous language to explain typology. I've tried for years to get into MBTI, because I felt there was something there, but have been unable to do so, because my critical thinking nature would not let me indulge giving any credence to the system in its poorly fleshed out state. Thank you for the video! Liked and subscribed.

This is the first time hearing of a main factor as connection between all professional skills & hobbies, though I think that is also true for INTJ. 😊 I had a really hard time with spiritual practicing until I found the system, which could explain & intertwine all the other things, that fill my life.

hmm.. you know, if i think about it instead of reacting to your presentation, i have no idea what you mean by 'reactive' and 'proactive'. i'm sure what you say is understood by everyone. i think it's because you're using the terms 'thinking' and 'cognition' in their conventional social meanings, which really is situational, defined as they're actually used. you're not doing a philosophic discussion, but i really wish you were, if only for me understanding what seems to be an accurate description of something.

As an ISFJ i constantly experience a sensation of Déjà vu (Si) triggered by ideas (Ne), i think is because my Ni demon 8th slot function has already seen everything from an unconscious perspective, and when i face a new concept in a situational manner, i experience this strange sensation because i already lived it unconsciously. Ni in the 8th slot comes after all the other 7 functions, which makes it more holistic and universal. I think the philosophers that spoke about universals were ISFJ's, Ti 3rd slot and being an ISFJ makes you wired to have Ni demon 8th slot.

I’m an INTJ but I’m very close to an ISTJ as well as I identify with the main descriptors of both types. Everyone I know who has identified as an INTJ are all extremely successful people with well above average intelligence who have made high quality life decisions for most of their lives.

This video really helped me lock in my type as ENTP. I wasn't 100% sure, but the description of Ne Fe was very percise and helped me see that I use the Ne cognitive function constantly.

Personally I do have theories for everything which you’ve stated isn’t intj like, but they are based on my personal insights, not necessarily drawn directly from experience but from what I conceptualise from this insights. I have endless spouting of potential machinations but they only leave my mouth if I am particularly energised or if I am asked for my opinion. Curious if this sounds intj like or if I have an inkling of alternative functioning

I am blown away with the accuracy of this. The one that was most accurate was that I’ve got clear memories mostly when I was a child of having that fuzzy ni-ti state and just completely not being there, and I’ll stay in that state until a resourceful perspective bubbles up from the ether. It was like a ‘who am I what is this’ haze which I wait for what I can only describe as an oracle inside me to answer. The description of Fuzzy ni-ti is the best explanation I’ve ever heard of this.

This was extremely helpful. I was getting really confused but I think what I an experiencing is a change in subtype. I have been trying post therapy to focus on myself and my needs over that of others because of that drive to be responsible for others emotions. Also to investigate my own feelings and try to define them which has been extremely difficult! It’s hard because an ENTP can decide what their identity is, without realizing they already had one? And they need to recognize that instead.

Dyslexic adhd ENTP here. Could not lock myself in to follow the presented information, feel like there is prerequisites to watch this video, never seen this ne fe se stuff before, so I keep drifting in and out. Based on comments it seems like there’s a lot of good info here. Will try to dedicate time and mentally prepare myself to power through this presentation style.

I posit there are not 32 cognitive functions but 32K cognitive functions where K is the number of subtypes each personality type exhibits because that affects the flavor of the cognitive function and you can view the cognitive network as being the interwoven web where all the flavors of cognitive functions interact with each other.

As a therapist, I would love to hear you talk about the various types’ blind spots, and how they can practically work on those blind spots, how those blind spots might manifest as symptoms, how those symptoms might be skillfully alleviated through their accessible dips. I know that’s so much, but I figured if you don’t do that, then I would want to, but I obviously trust your mastery of the concepts much more than my own 😂 Hahaha no pressure, but if you felt compelled, I’d spend a few bucks to hear your thoughts !

Wow. This is so clarifying. Fe over saturation always made so confused. Am I extremely empathic and caring about other people, or do not enjoy the company of people at all? The social polarity is a such a great way to hold my own Fe over-saturation potential without seeing it as a lack of altruism or care, it is in fact, a heightened function. Brilliant.

Also, something to add, I’ve always found it so bizarre how I’ve had a strange capacity for thinking and insight, yet always would rely on intense sports or physical feats to regulate myself, like running marathons, etc. But the idea of the authority position, SE IN ISTP, being capable of highly sustained bouts of engagement is now clarified. Thank you Harry.

Though, i'm still keeping an eye out for these great materials and means of enlightenment. Please continue your work!
