Credit card issues: you can pay off credit card balances - some people can - but what you cannot do is escape exposure to the financial pressures that create the need to use credit cards in the first place.

Adult children, depending on the parent for support is wrong. Its even worse when the children dont have life insurance.

Why would the children not having life insurance matter?

Financially.....Retirement seems a bit Scary

My plan is to take gigantic withdrawals in the first 6 years of retirement (4 years of expenses at a time) so I can exhaust my tax-deferred account before SS. I will be in higher tax bracket for Roth conversions. I will live off one year at a time and throw the rest into brokerage accounts until I need them. I will tap my Roth accounts in late 70’s or early 80’s. My fear is that RMDs will bankrupt me in old age.

I don’t think rmds bankrupt anyone in old age. If you have enough to be concerned you probably have enough to retire comfortably

It's terriifying to know people out there who just quit abruptly and expect to just retire. I guess you can do that if you have a few million in your nest egg, but that's rare.

People often don’t have that much money. There are a lot of people that act out of haste and think they’re going to figure it out later. They take the same view of retirement t
