2:57 it could also mean they have a hair ball in their mouth my bun ginger almost gave me a heart attack when when wasn't eating her morning pellets and her treat, until i noticed her mouth was puffed up and also noticed hair and dried flowers (from her forage mat) hanging out of her mouth and after i noticed it i laid on the floor with her and used a syringe with water and kept slowly getting more hair out and eventually the rest was loose enough that she could spit it up, so always keep a clean syringe and groom them regularly to hopefully avoid this :).

This video was really well-timed for me! I’ve been a bit concerned about my senior rabbit Luna (she’s 6) because it seems to me that she’s often sitting still for long periods of time these days. BUT at the same time she’s also alert, eating, drinking, pooping, splooting, and even binkying occasionally, so I haven’t hit the panic button yet. This video was a nice reminder that all these signs usually mean a bunny is doing fine, and maybe Luna just likes to sit still and judge the world like the venerable elder she is 😂

Rabbits as they get older will lower their activity level and sleep more. I have 5 seniors from 8 to 11 years of age. My 11 year old is more active then some of my younger ones. Depends on bunnies personality too. Some of my rabbits are more attention seeking and others just kinda wanna loaf around.

I'm not even kidding u really put my mind at ease because when I was holding my bunny his head was moving slightly and I wasn't sure if it was because of his breathing and I made sure there was no discharge from nose or eyes so I new he wasn't sick it was hot that day I thought maybe I got him anxious or stressed so I put him play area and he was hopping around eating his veggies and drinking soo thank u 😊

Hey Morgan! loveee your videos! Just wanted to share a lil bit of my experience. If you can afford a blood test for your bun maybe once or twice a year that’d be great! i have two buns that i bring to the vet once or twice a year but never took their blood test. one of them was acting completely fine until one morning she decides not to eat. ofcourse being a bunparent i thought she had gas or blockage but i brought her straight to the vet, he told me to try and give CC and hope its just stress since there were no blockage/gas. after 24h still not eating and very lethargic. went to the vet again, he recommended a blood test and so we did. turns out her creatinine and urea are super high that her kidneys werent doing good and even her liver too. she had to get hospitalised and her chances were 50/50. i was super devastated like just the night before she stopped eating she was still doing binkies and giving me kisses. but thank God she survived it and is now on liver tonic supplements, her kidneys are doing ok, we’re now still monitoring her monthly since this only happened in late December (just 5 days before xmas!) both buns are only turning 2y/o this May so still young! so if you could get that extra blood test, please do it!

I’ve noticed that, whenever I worry about my bun, he always shows me signs that he is happy. For us, a major worry is rectal prolapse, so I’m always worrying “Is his pee bloody?” And then he binkies or zooms, or follows me around. (He has fully recovered now). I’ve also been training him to do lots of things on command, like spin and go through a hoop or his play tunnel (which he LOVES).

I have heard that because bunnies don't have pads on their paws hardwood floors can be really challenging for them. I noticed that Cinnabun seems to be hopping around on your hardwood floors. Did you need to train her to be comfortable with that? I have a Holland Lop and also a Lion Head and they slip on my hardwoods a lot so I've put down little rugs everywhere but would much prefer not to have rugs everywhere if I didn't need them. Any advice would be so appreciated. Thanks so much for your educational and fun videos! Hi I have a rabbit called Peter he hasn't been well he stopped eating but I didn't know why I thought it could of been his teeth so I took him to the vets. The vet looked at him and she said it wasn't his teeth so I don't know why he stopped eating the very gave me some medication for him. Then I had to feed him with the power food mixed with water then after a few days he started to eat so I am happy now and I have changed his hay to Timothy hay which he enjoyed because the vet said meadow hay was no good for adult rabbits. I watch your video every time you up load it. I love watching your rabbit she is very cute 😍

Have you got your bun bun yet? I’m in the process of buying one. I gotta do as much research as I can AND make sure I’m financially stable bc a lot of money goes into bun buns. I’m in the process of getting my own crib so I’m gonna wait til I do. I gotta get pet insurance and all. Then I have to get him or her spaded or neutered. Not cheap. I got a lot of preparing to do before I get one. I’m sooo anxious about it. First thing’s first, getting my house bunny proof and set up the pin and play room etc

@janeteckhart4886 Жыл бұрын
Be careful with young rabbits. Their tummies are very sensitive. You can find good advice on your network browser.
@Feed_the_Kitty_a_Hotdog Жыл бұрын
I’d stick to alfalfa hay and young rabbit pellets. Introduce vegetables one by one including fruits and you don’t start feeding these until they’re 4 months old. Will cause diarrhea otherwise. Switch over to Timothy hay by 6 months of age and Timothy based adult pellets based on weight whatever the package says. I use Small Pet Select but Oxbow is an ok brand too.
@ansleyross4135 Жыл бұрын
@@Feed_the_Kitty_a_Hotdog Yes, thank you! I am also using small pet select for her alfalfa. I definitely know not to get her any fresh veggies/fruits yet. I just was curious if there were any treats you could give a bunny that young, but I think I will just have to wait a bit longer to teach her things like being held, etc.

Hi, we started to notice that our bunny is less active lately but the other things (splooting, eating, pooping etc) are alright. Any idea why? Do you think he can be somehow ill maybe? I have two rabbits, one female and one male. The male tends to be a-okay, but I do a have a few concerns on my female. She used to enjoy sleeping in the awkward, silly-sort of position similar to the video, but now she only seems to loaf. I'm a bit confused, could this be because of desexing? A few weeks back I got her deserved and she is still recovering. I hope you may know a reason why!

Treat test is a must. For me the ultimate test is if my bun is acting crazy in the morning and jumping on me. If he's doing it, it means that he slept well, ate his dinner (that he gets before going to sleep) and is overall happy. He's a healthy little gentleman, had ear infection once and that basically all his health problems. But the sign of ear infection was that he was scratching it a lot and had it downwards. Vet gave us antibiotics, probiotics and a syrup for boosting immunity and after a week everything was fine again. I really love our vet, she might not be a rabbit specialist, but she's really careful with doses, always checks them twice, and she calles him 'brave little sir' 😂 I would also advice routine checkup twice a year, once with vaccines and once mid year, just to be sure everything is okay.
