The other day I had to call my teacher. She didn’t answer so I left a voicemail and accidentally said amen at the end instead of bye. That was then followed by some noises of me realizing what I had just said, about to try and correct myself, and then realizing the damage had already been done. Now she is calling me back in 15 min. Wish me luck!

Still recommend watching the video, this is just to help me organize info in my head. 1. You have a vocal first impression: 2. People can hear your mood: you can tell the difference in mood between "hello"s 3. Likability depends on your mood when speaking: happy is best, power is worse than normal, angry is worse than power. 4. Speak at maximum resonance point 'video tutorial elsewhere' 5. Find something to smile about, don't do things that might make you unhappy while answering a phone

Vanessa, i saw you in a 1.5 hour video with Lewis (?) ("Art of Greatness?") and you were absolutely enchanting! I watched the whole thing. I'm hooked! I'll watch you talk about anything. Then i found your website, subscribed to your email, and now I'm so happy that the next day i received a link to this video. Subscribed for life. You are fascinating, animated, beautiful, expressive... And you have a great voice. I love what you say. Thank you! ❤

Sameee. It makes me anxious not being able to see facial expressions and body language while I’m speaking. Seeing them makes me feel way more comfortable. On the phone I’m a bumbling mess forgetting common words and losing my focus constantly. It’s so strange how that happens. I get 90% of feedback from being in person and only ~10% from their tone. So on the phone im limited to working with less than 10% feedback capacity. No wonder my voice will shake 😢. I’m over thinking & doubting the way Im expressing myself & if I’m being properlyunderstood. I’m watching vids like this bc recent remote job interview fails lit a fire and motivated me to master this sh*t once and for all woot woot failure is often the best thing that couldve happened. I’m about to be a speaking master all bc I didn’t get a job. Worth it!😅

Informative, hilarious, and entertaining to learn all the Hallos over phone. We can improve on our other Hallos over happy Hallos, can't we? Tones of happy Hallos could be improved by practice ( Hallo, are you looking for me - Lionel Richie could be practised for instance). If you're serious to improve on your rather happy vocal Hallo you may even try reading poems and stories as loud as you would be over a phone, what's your take on this? Marry Christmas and a very Happy New year in advance.
