Same! Currently, I like using TO’s glycolic acid toner as an exfolianting step, and Korean brands have some very nice toners and essences to soothe skin and add hydration! Toners are definitely a waste of money if you buy it for the wrong purposes. I was actually really shocked to hear that people used toners are cleansers/makeup removers. Sheet mask is essentially a serum and we are paying for the ingtedients as in serum. For that reason it is important to choose it wisely in order not to disrupt lipid barrier. I am not used to serums on everyday basis so doing a good fragrance-free sheet mask once or maybe twice a week is giving back that lasting glow and extra hydration if the skin has been quite dull for days.

I would have to see your skin to make the best recomendations, but in general: AM: cleanse, vitamin c serum, sunscreen PM: cleanse, tretinoin (with or without moisturizer ) Some people do too much to their skin, making matters worse or quite frankly, it most products don't work. Tretinoin is proven to work. Vitamin C is also helpful but unstable.

Hi Dr. Liv, I was wondering if you can add on your Q&A about how our hormones and menstrual cycle plays a role on our skin? I recently become more interested about this because I noticed how my face go through a cycle of dullness and glow. In addition, I am currently using a prescription tretinoin 0.025 and after my skin has adjusted, my acne scars are starting to fade and my skin got better. However, i believe that the menstrual cycle also plays a part and my healthy diet. I’d like to hear your professional advice or knowledge on this and I’d appreciate your time answering my question. I use a marvelous eye cream with a tint for day (Tatcha) and another eye cream for night. Love toners too they’re so refreshing! But I do agree with you about harsh scrubs with seeds etc thank you!! Questions: how do you feel about essences? And what is best to remove makeup and/or sunscreen before washing your face?👍👍

She mentioned toners are used for cleaning the skin that's how western toners are formulated not Asia toners. Asian toners are so hydrating and can be used as replacement for moisturizer if for short periods of time. It's also quite hard to find a sunblock that's AS hydrating as a moisturizer. Specially if you have dry skin. I do agree though that physical exfoliants can be too rough at times.

Love your video Dr. Liv. I have stocks of close to 80 pieces of sheet mask and 4 bottles of toner left in my drawers. Guess I'll use it all until it finish. After that I can save money and not buy more sheet mask and toners in future.

I stopped using toner 30 yrs ago. I use egg tval soap. It's great. I never use scrubs either. I just wish I could turn back time 25 years. But I love eye cream- what should I use.

@@crazycats535 Dermalogica Multivitamin Power Eye Cream, if you can afford it. It really really works. I haven't found anything else that does, but I haven't tried .05% Retin-A (Tretinoin) yet. Everyone swears by that but do lots of research before ever attempting it. Some people can't handle it. Retinol is then a better bet. Even then, research it before using it.

I disagree about eyecreams. Have been that person who thought what a waste of money. But then my moisturisers were not cutting it. And some eye creams are concentrated. Can even buy eye concentrates. And they work more effectively at moisturising. I can’t be without it now.
