5 slightly annoying things about the GWM Cannon

Hi Paul great video mate, In response to a couple of the mentions, the radio volume has been set to not be touched while reversing to keep ones attention on the camera and not to distract someone while reversing, the lane keep assist is the same thing, so while driving it has been set to not be played with to stop people looking away from the road while driving. Just the same as how manufacturers stop videos being played while driving, it becomes a distraction, and just a small disclaimer turning off lane keep assist will void your insurance in the event of an accident. Keep up the great videos mate I look forward to the next one

I agree with pretty much all of these annoyances also. So many blank buttons inside, hell even on the steering wheel. A lane keep off single button push would be amazing. Or better yet it stay off once turned off despite vehicle restarts. I feel like this could be sorted with a software update but not sure it's something they'll do as it's safety related. The sometimes fast, sometimes slow infotainment could definitely be cured with a software update though. Other than some small annoyances I really like the car as a whole.

Yeah .. thats a good idea... there's a blank button on the dash too that could be used to toggle LKA

Also another one of my gripes is with the Radio. To go up the stations you have to press the down button and visa versa. Very anoying.

Hi mate. Is there a way to manually turn off the warning beeps? For example, when I go through a drive through ie- Maccas, because the driveway is quite narrow, the car starts beeping like mad thinking that there are objects too close , I can seem to be able to switch it off. I know this is far from the time of posting but I haven't really taken noticed but have done recently and yes mine does the same. Do you know if they have done a firmware update at all. Plus mine is due for its for its first service so I will put the question to them and if there is I will let all know. Cheers - and yes totally agree with everything you have covered just a few buggy issues.

Hey Paul. Have you ever had trouble with the front cam? Mine just comes up as a black screen. Reverse cam is all good though.

Oh .. I should have been clearer ... you CAN turn off LKA, but it will turn back on again when you restart. You CANNOT permanently turn off LKA. I think they should just move the LKA display to the centre console!

does LKA have it's own fuse? maybe a permanent solution to turn it off could be removing the fuse.

I believe it's software based not mechanical. I will look into this tomorrow though. I seriously hate the lka on this car, everything else I can live with.

Well, even if turning on/off the radio using the physical on/off button can be a distraction (which I can't see it is), not able to turn it off in some situations is even worse in distracting the driver in focus on the driving rather finding his/her way to turn off that radio while reversing back to the garage. It wasn't a safety concern, honestly, it was more like a design flow.

The lane keep assist is the one thing that really shits me while driving this car. Always having to press OK for it to come up didgy dash only to disappear 10 seconds later again. Does anyone have an answer?? Also while on cruse control the bloody radar has to come up as well a million times to top it off.

Great video Paul I have bought one I agree with all Also I have a new problem that I can not get any help fore As soon as I start driving my years start filling up of what it looks like Air preasure just like going up or down a mountain hill I have changed the air from internal to external it seems to help a little bit If I have the aircon on I get the same preasur in and under my ears If I open up the window it is a lot better and more comfortable It is a pain inthe arse driving it around Has anybody else has this tipe of problem

Sorry for late reply I have been going to doctors and audiologists to find out way It may be low velocity sound I am going through pains my With my audiologist did a test in the morning testing my ears not driving the car Pretty normal At the end of the day the blockage of the ears go up by about 20% including pain for through next day Cannon services do not care I also have found other people in the same situation?????

I find the sunglasses holder above the drivers door waste of space. I would prefer a handle. I enquired about replacing. I was told it will affect the warranty 😂 oh and to have a handle on the drivers pillar would obstruct visibility ? My question is those who have made modifications to your New Cannon, how has this affected your warranty?

Given the recent legal case in Australia against LDV I can understand how some are really nervous. But this is my 3rd greatwall. My first in 2015. So in 6 years, I've not had any significant problems with greatwalls. But I will be watching out ... just like I would be watching out if this were a any other make of truck.
