@@SheilaWanner I've warmed up to the idea of a road tax...the more you drive, the more you pay...the heavier the vehicle, the more you pay...over the years. Do away with all but a standard sales tax on fuel, and make it so you only need to get a drivers license once, and vehicle registration once at point of sale. Only need to be updated if you move or in the case of tags, sell the vehicle.

The reasoning (such as it is) behind the "I'm not conducting business, I'm traveling" chant goes something like this: The legal definition of 'driving' is 'operating a motor vehicle on a public road,' which the SovCits can't bring themselves to accept has replaced the Colonial-era definition of 'transporting goods and/or people for money.' That way, as long as they're.not being paid to take somebody or something somewhere they think they're not 'driving' they're just 'traveling,' which is a Constitutionally-protected activity.
