5 STAR THAI DINING EXPERIENCE in KRABI 🇹🇭 WORTH IT OR NOT? Rayavadee Railay Beach

So let me get this out of the way, I'm not used to staying in luxury resorts so staying in the Rayavadee in Krabi is a one off for us.
A lot of you have asked me to review some more upmarket restaurants so you can treat yourselves to something special on your holiday to Thailand so I needed to find somewhere that was more than a restaurant. The Krua Pha Nang is it in my opinion.
The Rayavadee is the only 5 star resort on Railay Beach and it boasts some pretty impressive looking restaurants. Will the food stand up to the price here? let's find out!
So we tried the set menu which is 1500 THB PP ++ making it 1755 THB with tax - £41 / $50
It's a lot more than my usual Thai street food recommendations but for the amount of seafood we got and the quality the Thai dishes, I actually left feeling like we'd got a bargain!
We got menu 1:
APPETIZER

Deep-fried prawns with chrysanthemum leaves
SALAD
ยำเป็ดกรอบ
Crispy duck shreds tossed
with spicy green mango salad
SOUP
ต้มยำทะเลน้ำข้นมะพร้าวอ่อน
Andaman seafood in hot and sour soup, fresh herbs
and lime juice served in coconut shell
MAIN DISHES
แกะผัดพริกแกงใต้
Dry lamb curry, vegetables and Thai aromatics
ผัดผักเหมียงกับไข่
Wok-fried Gnemon leaves with egg
glass noodles and oyster sauce
ข้าวออร์แกนิค
Jasmine, rice berry, Sangyod, sticky rice
DESSERT
ข้าวเหนียวมะม่วง
Sweet sticky rice spring roll, fresh mango
mango espuma, mango sorbet
and coconut coulis
In my opinion, for what it's worth, this is the best Thai food on Railay Beach. Of course there are cheaper options around but in my experience, Railay doesn't have great food in general so I'd rather pay the extra and be happy!

Nice video! Of course you should be doing places like this alongside the street food. I (and I guess, a large proportion of your audience) visit Thailand as tourists and weirdly, it can be difficult to find great food in upmarket places. This place looks like the bomb mate - would definitely consider booking a nice evening there.

One of the great aspect of Thailand is there is a large diversity of small - inexpensive to beautiful top of the line places. Often all of this is side by side. Thai fusion foods too. Wow , looks nice ! Agree , we stay at Peninsula 3 days last time . Everything top class , wonderfull view on the banks of Chao Praya. After that we stay upstreams at a little hotel , cost the same as the breakfast at Peninsula ! Two lovely women run the place . I have a much better feeling at that place !

Reminds me of the one time we were treated to a dinner at whatever was the top five-star restaurant in Bangkok. All the food was exquisite, as were all those you guys ate here, and while this lacks all the excitement and adventure of street food, it's perfect for those special times. The foods and presentations here are similar to what I've read of "royal" recipes from the olden days in the most promoted Thai cookbook by that Aussie chef (lol). Enjoy! I'm not even gonna check out the dollar conversion from 1500 baht.

just got back from rayavadee what a wonderful resort and the staff so wonderful ate at the grotto fantastic and also krua phra nang but i think they have changed the menu as they didnt have a set meal and the tom yam soup was just served in a bowl with just prawns but still delicious

Last time my wife and I went here there was some kind of riots going on in Bangkok and a general "do not travel" warning was issued. We were almost the only people in Railay. It was an unusual but magical experience, everywhere we ate they kept giving us multiple free dishes because they wanted to use up the food that the restaurants had bought. I virtually rolled out of the place. Great memories.

I know you love Thai tea and dislike sweet things but a drink series would be epic as there is not much content on them. Totally get how this place made it to your channel. Special that you had your honeymoon, but the food looks special and top-quality, and the location.....it is difficult to name many as special. This was in the Krua Pranong restaurant and in my opinion, this was much better. The grotto is a barbecue set menu and it was ok. But the grotto is in a cave so the setting is unreal

Good looking family bud. Love eating/staying at places like this every once in a while. I have to admit though, I seem to have the best times with locals and what they eat, ie... street food/home cooked food. Another great vid bud, keep it up
