Its all in the knees; flex the knee but harden your ankles while striking the ball with your laces. Edit: mind the direction your arching foot is facing cause thats the direction your shot will most likely go

Practice, practice, and practice. Just repeatedly do the skills you want to use in a match instinctively without thinking about it at home or anywhere playable. You can't just learn new skills and apply them in a match instantly. You gotta practice the move, the pattern often to apply them fluently without forgeting about it in a match.
