Honestly I think the sorcerer's hat was more iconic than the Chinese Theater, then again I think the Chinese Theater was a bigger deal in the movie-making industry back when it was built than it is now. You wouldn't be able to do projections on either (so it seems like the tower of terror is the new show icon?), but at least the hat had a stage you could have performances on naturally. Saw a few great new years shows by Mulch, Sweat and Shears there! RIP, you beloved Disney park band... (I think they're gone now)

I sincerely miss the hat, and to tell the truth have never even set foot in the Chinese theatre. of all the times I’ve been to MGM/Hollywood Studios, I can’t say I even remembered it. I went to the park this January and it was legitimately the only time I ever really noticed it.

So does Stamos own the whole sign but only displays the "D"? and did you find any info on what became of the original?
@purportedtomb34024 жыл бұрын
He probably didn’t have room and it makes more sense then an i or a y
@Bea566012 жыл бұрын
He has the whole sign, just displays the D. Watch the John Stamos "Open Door" video and he shows some of the rest of his Disney collection.

Hooray for a new Yesterworld video - love your work so much💗💗 I have pictures of little 5 year old me watching America On Parade - I remember that day very well!! I have an idea for you that could be included in another video like this. When I was a tiny girl, back in the early 70s, I have very distinct, extremely happy memories of a bank of phones in Tomorrowland in the shop next to CircleVision (in Disneyland). You would pick up these phones and hear the voices of Mickey, Goofy, Donald, etc. I LOVED this and I cannot find pictures of this little attraction anywhere. Can you do some research on this? I’d love to re-live those memories😺

If that's where the distracting "Epcot" letters went, did the number "2000" on both sides also go to the same place?

Omg that Disney.go homepage brought back sooooo many memories. I used to have a “Disney Blast” subscription back in 2002. Also when you clicked on any of the links on the top, the monorail bookends would take off.

Great video :) Was kinda weird jumping to 1969 to say the sponsorship was dropped and rocket redone in 1962 out of embarrassment from the moon landing 7 years in the future.
@BaconSomeHearts4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, the moon landing was in '69, not '59, and therefore had no bearing on TWA removing their sponsorship
@poppyfoxart4 жыл бұрын
I came down to the comments specifically to see if someone commented on this. The whole thread of that narrative had me questioning when Disneyland opened because I knew for a fact "we went to the moon in 1969" and couldn't figure out why I'd always thought Disneyland was opened in the mid-1950s when Yesterworld was telling me four years after Disneyland opened the moon landing happened. THE HISTORICAL WHIPLASH.
@YesterworldEntertainment4 жыл бұрын
I'm not even going to try to deny this...because as embarrassed as I am to admit this, I think I seriously messed up in my timeline / narration for that section....

Yesterworld Entertainment to be completely fair to you, I trust your research and information so much that you seriously had me reconsidering information I thought I already knew - and I’m a history teacher! 😂 When I came down here to comment it wasn’t to gloat at you being wrong or anything, I really just wanted to see if anyone else was as confused as I was so I could confirm that I wasn’t going crazy. 😂 Anyway, as someone who struggles with numbers (dyscalculia) I understand the mix up and don’t blame you at all! It’s tough always keeping things straight in your head and you put out so much quality content that you’re allowed to have a mistake or two. ❤️

When I was little at Disneyland, I saw the small version of the Moonliner, and I think my parents were telling me about the history and how TWA wanted to be the first rocket to the moon. Apparently my either 5 or 7 year old mind though that that little replica itself was going to blast into space and I was so excited. I never felt let down because I eventually forgot about it.

Your story reminds me of when I was little (4 years old), and my dad took me to Chicago's Museum of Science and Industry. When we got to the U505, WWII, German submarine exhibit, my dad said, "we're going on a submarine!" I was scared of the thought of going underwater (guess I didn't want to get wet).
