5 Strand Challah Braid

This one certainly has a different look but it is fun if you want to get a little creative. The ending challah is almost triangular with it's three sided look and might be more complicated than a 10 strand!

The audacity of some folks in these comments. This was my first time trying a five-strand crown braid instead of the woven five-strand (or a simpler braid entirely), and it worked great with the challah dough I make every week. Many thanks to the poster for sharing their process!

Explaining the direction and going a bit slower would help, as well as using only one hand because its hard to follow two hands going in different directions

Numbering strand positions left to right. 1 to 5 1. The 5 strand crosses over 2,3, and 4 (just under 1/becomes new 2nd strand) 2. The 1 is crossed over 2 and 3. 3. Then 2 is crossed over 3 4. Repeat. That's what I surmised from the video. Best I could see. Even more simplified ( these are position numbers) 1. 5 move left over 2 2. 1 move right over 3 3. 2 move right over 3 4. Repeat

I just repeated to myself "2 - 3 - 2 over 3" last strand goes to #2 spot first strand goes to #3 spot #2 goes over #3
